Lying is a concept that has been alive since civilized intelligence began to develop. It is a very unpleasant and inferior part of everyday society. Lying comes from almost everyone you know and you never know how to eliminate it from our lives. Lies could be white lies, made up stories or giant secrets that people hide from you because they fear the world knowing.
To the extremely blunt and honest friend, lying is a crime, it is a villainy and a robbery of their trust. With all this being said, what are the major lies that we see in our lives?
1. Little white lies
Talk about a lie that appears everywhere you go. Parents use these suckers against us more than anything else. One of the major uses of a little white lie—that isn't very little at all, quite fat actually—is the Santa Claus lie. Children, turn your eyes away from the computer for a second. Mom and Dad, let's have a talk; these poor kids believe you, but that fat man is not real. Break it slowly to the kids. They're going to cry, it's going to be tough, but you'll survive. Another example of our lovely white lie could be what you ate for dinner last night, I ate plain chicken but I tell everyone I ate chicken parmesan. Just tell us what you ate, we do not care.
2. Tall tales
I don't know about you, but these tail tails drive me insane. If you hate yourself that much, then use the energy you put into to lying to power your positive motivation. Stop coming up with made up stories to spice your life up, and start living your life instead. You'll find by the end of this transformation, you will feel more satisfied with how spiced up your life has become. Telling the truth about your life will do you and all your friends a huge favor.
3. Long, continuous lies
These lies are the worst of all. They are the most hurtful for the friend who is left in the dark of them. These lies, over everything, destroy all the trust you have for someone. Lying is bad, but repeatedly lying to someone, that's something that can never be forgiven. Nothing makes you feel more alone, left out and like everything you every knew about your friends, was a lie. All the good times, hard laughs and late night drives are just clouded by dark, ominous clouds that want all the happiness in the room to vanish.
Moral of the story, don't lie to your friends, your family. not even your dog Patrick. It is not worth it. As much as it might spice up the story, the story would be better if it were real.
