Every girl fantasizes about finding the perfect man. Everyone is getting engaged and you and your friends are out getting hammered and chowing down on take-out. (No wonder you're single.) Well here's a newsflash to the party going, pizza eating, whiskey shooting, bar-hopping, beer drinking, single girls: you're not gonna find Prince Charming while you're hammered in a smoky bar. Yes I know in movies and TV shows it happens all the time, but that's Hollywood--and this is real life.
When a guy sees a sloshed, single girl out with all of her equally sloshed friends the words "I'm gonna marry her one day" are probably not running through his head. It's probably more along the lines of "Yeah, I'll take her and one of her friends home."
Don't get me wrong here, I'm sure if you're sober driver for the night (haha, yeah right), and happen to stumble upon a cute male sober driver for the night, by all means go for it girly--he's probably closer to your Prince than any other drooling idiot in there.Your knight in shining armor will not find you while he's drunk, nor when you are. You'll probably find a nice lay for the night when you're drunk, but I wouldn't consider it to ever be long-lasting.
When you hear "God has someone waiting for you" I highly doubt that He has perfected it just so, in order that you can be with your favorite love--whiskey--and that your second love--ahem enter Prince Charming--will come and find you in that crowded place full of sin and bad decisions. You'll ride off into the sunset towards your apartment on a Jack Daniels bottle, and he'll definitely respect your boundaries--if you have any left at that point--know that you're drunk and not even try, and you'll have lunch the next day, go on dates, and then get married years later. I could definitely go for that, but half the time I don't even remember the names of the guys that talk to me in a bar.
You can't walk into a different drinking establishment every night and expect to find the person that's meant for you. It could definitely happen, but is that a story you wanna tell your children one day? "Mommy met daddy when she was schmammered at a bar one night and just thought it was gonna be a one night stand but he stuck around because you were conceived."
Um, I'd like to think not..
Have fun with being single, though! College is the best time of your life, and a boyfriend only restricts you from doing you. Go out, have drinks, surround yourself with your girlfriends, or guy friends, that make you the happiest, and when you're ready for a relationship, don't go looking for Prince Charming in a college town dive bar.
