The show, Pretty Little Liars, is one of my favorite shows of all time. I have been watching it since Day One when it premiered in June 2010. I was a tad bit obsessed and bought so much of its merchandise as the show progressed and grew. It slowly gained more watchers who raved about the show and loved how it mixed romance, suspense, action and drama into one 45 minute episode. I came to know the plot of the show a little too well and always asked the famous question, "Who's A?". I always had many theories as to who it was and if it was a group of people or just one person.
After many years of premieres and finales, there have been many people who have been named "A," like Toby, Mona and Ezra. When we fans think that we have finally solved the puzzle as to who is behind all of the torment and terror, a new mystery rises. This has occurred in many different points of the seasons. The biggest reveal was in season six, episode 20 when A was exposed as Cece Drake or Charles Dilaurentis, and how she was Alison's cousin and that she was behind all the problems in the liars' lives. All PLL fans were relieved from the reveal and knew that there would be no more problems because Cece was locked up. Aria, Emily, Spencer, Hanna and Allison could now live normal lives and they all parted ways for five years. This is when I thought the show would end when the liars shared a bittersweet moment in Alison's backyard. NOPE! After five A-free years, Allison was petitioning the release of Cece. She asked her dear friends to come to Rosewood to speak well on the behalf of her cousin and to prove that she was not a threat anymore. This is when problems began to arise again because after Cece was freed, she was brutally murdered. When this happened, the inevitable occurred and all of the girls were being targeted by a new person. Cece was not behind the grand scheme of things anymore; someone else was looking to torment the liars, Uber A or as known on the show A.D. They were thrown back into the rabbit hole known as Rosewood and their lives were at risk once again.
This is the point where many fans decided to stop investing their time and interest in the show. They were tired of trying to follow along to a new mystery when they thought all their questions had been answered. I can relate to this because I have felt this way a couple of times throughout season seven. I was satisfied with the season finale and ready to close the door of my obsession that was opened six years ago. Then I heard that there would be a season seven and I truly debated on watching this new season. The reason behind the new story line is because of how successful the show has been in the past few years. The producers of the show wanted to outlive the success of the show for as long as they could. I wish that they had ended the show last season and put the mystery to rest. Even though this clearly was not the outcome, I am enjoying the new plot and story line of season seven. I hope that this will be the last season and that all fans finally get all of their questions answered and that we know who really is behind what has been going in Rosewood for 6 plus years.
