From the eye of a young child life seems to be one big playground. You have school, sports, and friends. Responsibility is at the minimum. Yet all these things seem to be just for fun activities and your life as you know it, is filled with joy because you take life and the obstacles that come with it so lightly.
I remember when I was little my life was so easy going and fun. I did not have any worries about anything other than what concerned me. My biggest worry was getting up on time. HA. You look back on your life from the stand point of the present day and you start to miss all the times you had your mom and dad to do your clothes, clean your room, take care of all your problems, comfort you when you were sick, and love you even when you did wrong. You miss waking up without a care in the world and being able to smile even when you're upset because you know the next day you won’t even remember why you were upset in the first place.
You look back and wish you did not long to be older and while you're looking back you begin to realize that you miss being little and you were not as eager to grow up as you thought you were. But notice I said “you look back” countless times. That is what is wrong with society today. People are always looking in the rear view mirror at what is behind them when they forget to look at what is before them. Why is that? Is it because we are not satisfied with where we are in life? or is it because we realize we did not cherish what we had in the moment and regret ever letting those moments slip by? To be honest with you, I believe people are scared to be content. I believe people have a constant want and when that want is not fulfilled they begin to reminisce on what was, instead of appreciating what is. This often takes us back to the time in our life when the simplicity of life was the cure to our distress.
However, the point of this blog is not to point out what is wrong with society, yet it is to remind those who are looking back that God has a plan. He is watching you and understands your feelings and desires out of life. He knows what is best for you. Where you are in your life is exactly where you are supposed to be and that is the most beautiful part of God's plan. You're never out of His reach. So next time you start to look back on your life, never forget to cherish what is right in front of you and be content in that moment. Life is too precious not to be admired. So do not look back, but keep moving forward.
