The week before spring break is one of many emotions and even more exams. If you’re like me, you’ve accepted defeat at this point and turned to Netflix to handle the impending week of midterms, papers, and anticipation for a long-deserved break. No matter how nice the weather is or how pumped you were to start watching “Fuller House” on Netflix, the week before spring break tells the tale of students caught between a million assignments to do and not enough focus to do them. Because no one tells a story better than “Friends,” here’s the week before spring break, from Monica, Chandler, Joey, Phoebe, Ross & Rachel.
1. You take a look at your planner & see you have three tests and four papers due. This is undoubtedly a nine-one-one emergency, my friends.
2. In response to the absurd to-do list that you just made, you immediately order Domino’s or go to Subway (or both) to begin coping with the massive amount of stress you’re dealing with. Pizzas will help me get A's, right?
3. Instead of studying or starting your papers, you eat your newly found food & turn on some jams to relax with your equally stressed squad--because why not?!
4. You remember why not, because it’s suddenly 1:30 in the morning and the information on the test you have tomorrow is startlingly unfamiliar. Flashcards untouched, textbook completely unread. This is good. Breathe deeply.5. Running on nonexistent amounts of sleep and sub-par dining hall coffee, you try your best to gear up for what’s sure to be a never-ending week.
6. Your overworked mind starts to wander to thoughts of relaxing over spring break, leading to complete distraction mode. Nothing sounds better to you than the beach, and learning more information at this point is close to impossible.
7. You realize, while stress-eating pizza, candy, and ice cream in anticipation of your tests, that you’ve completely forgotten about working out… Oops, sorry not sorry.
8. Come Friday, you’re not only finished with one hell of a hell week, spring break has BEGUN. Killin’ it, to say the least.
With all those exams and papers in the past, let spring break welcome the second half of the semester and well-deserved warm weather. Whether you're homebound or on a direct flight to the tropical destination of your choice, take some time to recover from all that schooling. Happy vacation!
