Thanksgiving, everyone's favorite holiday (or at least those of us that like stuffing our faces), is right around the corner. In honor of Turkey Day, let's power rank the top 20 items on the Thanksgiving menu (desserts included).
20. Canned yams
Because they're gross and I can't stand them.
19. Squash
I've never heard of anyone eating squash at Thanksgiving, so there's that.
18. Butter rolls
Butter roles are a good meal starter, but not an essential part of a Thanksgiving feast.
17. Macaroni and cheese
Because who eats macaroni and cheese at Thanksgiving if you're over the age of 10?
16. Roasted green beans
I've heard this is good, but I've never tried it.
15. Pumpkin roll
A very underrated dessert.
14. Cinnamon applesauce
Grandma's special side dish can't be beat.
13. Carrot cake
My grandma makes the best carrot cake. God bless her.
12. Pumpkin bread
Once again, a very underrated dessert.
11. Apple pie
Everybody loves this dessert, but I like it better at Christmas.
10. Cornbread
One of my all-time favorites. Who doesn't love a warm piece of cornbread with butter?
9. Cranberry sauce
I don't eat it, but everybody loves it.
8. Pecan pie
Personally, this is my favorite type of pie.
7. Green bean casserole
Those french fried onions take it to a whole other level.
6. Pumpkin pie
By far, the best dessert/pie for Thanksgiving.
5. Sweet potatoes
No arguing this one.
4. Stuffing
A classic Thanksgiving side dish. Even better if it's inside the Turkey.
3. Gravy
It deserves its own category, mostly because it makes everything else 10 times better.
2. Turkey
You probably thought this was going to ne number one. Ha.
1. Mashed potatoes
In an upset, mashed potatoes gets the nod as the best Thanksgiving food item. And if you're feeling bold, go ahead and mix it with your Turkey.
