Spring break is over, you might still have a tan but you aren't in Cabo anymore. Its always nice to have a break, right up until the reality of school smacks you in the face like the waves when you were surfing. The ending of spring break is basically a five-step process, denial, anger, anxiety, sadness, and not accepting it. The thoughts you have are similar to every college student, Spring Break is a tease of summer, and I want it back.

1. So happy to be back on campusĀ

2. Okay, Okay...no need to yell, you really did just see her a week ago.Ā

3. The Sun is out and I am ready for this lovely weather.Ā

4. That means that Summer is right around the corner.Ā

5. Wait, so are finals then.Ā

6. Okay don't stress, we can do this.Ā

7. Wait, was there this many people on campus before spring break?

8. Do they even go here?Ā

9. Hold on, just because we came back from Spring Break doesn't mean you can take my seat.Ā

10. Um there is an assignment due? I don't remember that.Ā

11. Okay its fine I have until midnight.Ā

12. Oh shoot, and I have a test on Friday? What kind of sick joke is this?Ā

13. I need coffeeĀ

14. Okay cool everyone decided to go to Starbucks at the same time, great! Ā

15. There is no need to take this long to order a drink

16. At least the sun is outĀ

17. But the Library is so darkĀ

18. I could study outsideĀ

19. Oh but my laptop died on the planeĀ

20. I wish it was still spring break.Ā

As I sat and had lunch with my colleagues in London, we got into a conversation about British food that I need to try before I leave. Immersed in a conversation about Sunday roasts, mashed potatoes and sausages, I almost fell off my chair when one of my colleagues looked right at me and told me to try chicken tikka masala ā€œthe national food of Britain.ā€

the baby of the friend group holds hands with her friends
Alli Michal Huff

In every friend group or squad there is the baby of the group. This is the youngest one and usually you can tell because they are more carefree and they are not sure what is going on. Friends come together

She sat us down in her room the day that we all returned from Fall Break. "I have to tell you guys something," she said. She told us that she was transferring after the first semester. She was changing her major and she was going to be more comfortable and have more opportunities to learn and grow at her new college. I was happy for her because I knew that she was struggling to figure out what she wanted to change her major to, but that small, selfish part of me did not want her to leave. I am not naive to the fact that I most likely will have a couple more friends transfer somewhere along the line before we graduate. Goodbyes to friends that transfer will always be bitter-sweet, but sometimes it is hard to know exactly what to say to someone who is transferring. Below are 6 important things to say to someone who is taking the a different path in their college journey.
