Not Everyone Can Be a Winner In Politics

Politics are always a heated discussion, but throwing a temper tantrum when your party doesn't win won't change anything.

Not Everyone Can Be a Winner In Politics

Politics have become a huge topic of discussion in the last 20 years, and in our recent election politics have become more heated when being discussed. Everyone has different views, and it's one thing to have a debate but when grown adults have temper tantrums that a 2-year-old would throw that's when it goes a little overboard.

Everyone should have their own views and think for themselves, but when your political party doesn't win does that really mean you have to act like you are a toddler that didn't get what they wanted, so you throw yourself on the ground, and kick and scream till you get your way. We hold up signs that are immature and look like a teenager wrote it.

We are adult's and need to act that way when having a debate over something, and when it comes to having a protest over something you believe in, that's great people need to stand for what they believe, but when you start causing harm to others and destroying property that doesn't belong to you. This is when you have gone too far, peaceful protest is one thing being an anarchist is another.

So many people on both sides have been raised in a certain way, and instead of doing their own research on the other party they continue to believe what they want and come off close-minded. Neither party will ever come through with all their promises that they make when running for office. And if people think and believe that they will, then you are very gullible and will believe anything that they are told.

Jerry Kiesewetter

And it's getting worse when it's the politicians that throw these tantrums, you can see in political races that these adults will try to throw the other party under the bus, dig up as much dirt as they can so it works in their favor. There is a youtube video where Hillary Clinton is yelling at a green peace activist because she thinks she is a Bernie Sanders supporter. And then you have Donald Trump our current president that has had a temper tantrum or two as well.

Both sides act like children. Last year there was a women's march protest and a march for life protest at the same time, and both groups had their own views and acted very differently when it came to that protest. The march for life was very peaceful, but the women's march was very loud and vulgar and were starting to get violent with a couple of the people in the march for life group, even going as far as saying that they didn't belong there and saying that they don't even know what it's like to be a women, when half or more of the group was made up of women.

Randy Colas

These protests get out of hand, and people think it's ok to destroy public property because they think they are making a statement when all they are doing is committing a felony. Why can't we act like adults when we are having a debate about our views, because everyone thinks differently.

Throwing tantrums and vandalizing property isn't going to get your views across all it's going to do is get you fined a lot of money and jail time.

For as long as I can remember, I have been listening to The Beatles. Every year, my mom would appropriately blast “Birthday” on anyone’s birthday. I knew all of the words to “Back In The U.S.S.R” by the time I was 5 (Even though I had no idea what or where the U.S.S.R was). I grew up with John, Paul, George, and Ringo instead Justin, JC, Joey, Chris and Lance (I had to google N*SYNC to remember their names). The highlight of my short life was Paul McCartney in concert twice. I’m not someone to “fangirl” but those days I fangirled hard. The music of The Beatles has gotten me through everything. Their songs have brought me more joy, peace, and comfort. I can listen to them in any situation and find what I need. Here are the best lyrics from The Beatles for every and any occasion.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
