Will You Remember: A Poem

Poetry: Will You Remember?

Life is already short. Don't make it shorter.

When it's time to meet that big man in the sky

or the eternal peacefulness

The golden arches

Or the gates of purgatory

Will you remember the times you had?

In a plane between your world and the next

Your feet at the entrance

Your past, present, and future nonexistent

Will you remember the times you had?

The times you spent worrying over

Bills, tests,

Guys, girls

The tiny things in life

Will they matter?

The times when you said that one thing

You didn't need to say it

You knew it was wrong,

But you said it

The days that flipped your world upside-down

Decisions, good or bad, useless

Regrets made

No control of the present

Will you remember the times you had?

The nights spent awake

Contemplating the conspiracies of the world

Are aliens real?

Am I an alien?

Moments of silence

Suddenly broken by quiet laughter

Remembering that one joke that could make you laugh for days

Then returning to silence

Your family

Friends

Loved ones

Yourself

Will you remember the times you had?

How Happiness In A Relationship Is So Important

What is the happiness and love that we as individuals deserve when it comes to our relationship?

731

It's different for each of us. Some prefer being showered in gifts, being showed off on social media, bragged about to family and friends. But, what is the one thing that all of those have in common?

That would be the unmistakable amount of love your significant other has for you, that they will do anything to show you that they love you unconditionally. We all show our love for one another in various ways. I for one love being shown the love someone else has for me in small things they do.

It could be a simple 'good morning love' text message or even just a hug out of the blue. Knowing that someone cares so deeply about you is one of life's greatest gifts. Knowing that another human being loves you and wants to be with you, it makes us drunk off of love and our heads float up to the stars.

However, when we don't feel that love, that connection, that reassurance from our significant other that they love and care for us back, it can be an extremely overwhelming and a lonely feeling.

We start looking for those feelings and connections elsewhere. In our friends for reassurance if we look good or blowing up their phones for attention.

We start caring about if other people find us attractive or not, we relish in compliments that other people give us. We start looking for that happiness elsewhere. It's not because you stop loving your significant other or stop caring about them, but we as humans need to feel important and like we are needed by another person.

When you stop letting your significant other know how much you care about them or showcasing your love for them, even if it's a simple gesture like holding their hand or holding the door open for them, they will begin to look elsewhere.

Now I am in no way saying that they will cheat on you, but your relationship and their attitude and feelings towards you will never be the same until you start showing them how much they mean to you just as much as they do for you. I don't condone cheaters or staying in a relationship that you are not happy in.

Yes, some relationships go through hard times like distance or a traumatic event. However, the way I see it is if you entered into the relationship, to begin with, you obviously cared about that person a lot and if they show you that they care and love you for the person you are and your past then they deserve the same in return from you.

Relationships are not always easy, they take time, determination, communication, compromise, and love to stay afloat. If one of you isn't willing to give your all and put forth the effort needed then it will never work. A relationship can't be successful if it is only one-sided.

Despite peoples life's being busy on a day to day basis, you need to always find time for your significant other. Because at the end of the day when things hit the fan, your significant other should be the one that will be there no matter what and always be by your side.

All in all, you need to treat each other the way in which you would want to be treated in a relationship and treat them the way they should be treated despite whatever chaos is going on in the world about you. Love is the conquer of all and should never be thrown around or not taken seriously.

Loving someone else is a gift we are given by God and never taken lightly.

9 Extremely Underrated Netflix Shows And Movies That Will Keep You Up Until 3:00 AM This Summer

This is NOT a generic list recommending "Riverdale" or "Grey's Anatomy".

Summer without Netflix is like winter without snow. This listicle contains some of the hidden gems of Netflix many have never heard of. Some of these shows/movies are often overlooked, but once you click on it, your life will forever be changed (at least for the month you watch it). Enjoy watching these when you get bored of the mainstream shows/movies.

1. "The Fosters"

https://media.giphy.com/media/mXrCbE8PQxamlLRvWP/giphy.gif

The Fosters is an excellent fast paced teen/family drama. The show revolves around a non-traditional family of two moms, a biological son, adopted twins and two foster kids; the characters seem to be on a rollercoaster of ups and downs. Character development and dialogue is on point, and the plot is well thought out. My all-time favorite show!

2. "Bates Motel"

https://media.giphy.com/media/GLpAmxAsC0AW4/giphy.gif

A woman and her son move into a foreclosed motel for a fresh start after her husband was murdered. Once they move into the motel, an unfortunate occurrence changes their lives forever. Can they get away with murder? Even though I started watching this show today, I am absolutely intrigued. From the very first scene, the show has kept me on the edge of my seat.

3. "Friend Request"

https://media.giphy.com/media/LdnljOZPgqyXu/giphy.gif

Laura, a popular and friendly girl in college, gets a friend request from a weird girl she met recently named Marina; Marina has no followers on Facebook, and her posts are odd. Maria becomes obsessed with Laura, leading to a fallout, and Marina commits suicide the same weekend.

Once students return to school, their professor informs them of Marina's death. Later that day, a video of Marina's suicide was uploaded on Laura's Facebook. Watch the movie to find out how Laura starts off with 800 followers on Facebook and ends up with zero, just like Marina.

4. "Quicksand"

Whenever a friend asks for a Netflix recommendation, I always say "Quicksand" very enthusiastically, but I also warn them that this is a dark series with mature subjects. This series is originally Swedish, but the version on Netflix is dubbed in English. The series starts with Maria being arrested for first-degree murder; the events leading up to the shooting are revealed through suspenseful flashbacks.

It is a quick watch with only six fast paced episodes, and the ending will not disappoint you. Just a heads up that this series has nothing to do with quicksand; it is just a metaphor for how Maria got herself into situations which were hard for her to get out of.

5. "Love, Rosie"

https://media.giphy.com/media/Y28TYYLIaRiTK/giphy.gif

Best friends Rosie and Alex have grown up together, but the challenges they encounter distance them. Will they be able to make it back to each other before it is too late? You will not regret watching this pleasant yet slightly cheesy romantic comedy.

6. "American Vandal"

https://media.giphy.com/media/l4EoZ6JZ5uB4IT5FS/giphy.gif

27 faculty cars are vandalized the day of a staff meeting, and class clown Dylan Maxwell is accused and expelled for the crime. Peter and Sam investigate to fill in the holes of the story. Was Dylan really behind the crime? Was the eye-witness lying?

American Vandal is a mockumentary, more specifically a parody of the true crime show Serial. Even though it is a parody, every watcher wants to find out what really happened the day of the staff meeting.

7. "Criminal Minds"

https://media.giphy.com/media/Sn6CZ79Tz53RS/giphy.gif

A group of highly qualified FBI agents in Quantico investigate crimes all over the United States. From serial killers to homicides, the agents dig deep to get to the bottom of these perplexing cases.

8. "Atypical"

Sam, a high schooler on the autism spectrum, goes on a journey of love and self-discovery. With comedy, drama and romance everyone will find something they love about this show.

9. "Young and Hungry"

https://media.giphy.com/media/AEAiyAbh9LRBJofndV/giphy.gif

Young and Hungry revolves around the on-again-off-again relationship between Silicon Valley tech entrepreneur Josh and his chef Gaby. This hilarous sitcom is drama filled and will not fail to make you laugh.
