Poetry On The Odyssey: As I Go MaD

Going mad is a journey and a destination.

I grew mad once, with a maddening madness that only sanity can bestow.

My brain was melting through my ears and I could hear the dreams I lost.

The saddest thing about losing your mind is that it never comes back.

I could spend a lightyear explaining, but you would never understand.

Until you also go crazy, you will not know what I am saying!

I plead with the devil at my door, but I cannot change man’s will.

I hear you call my name, but the voice is none I recognize.

Please, listen but do not hear. Please, remember what was forgotten.

Nothing is predictable when life is seen as the art that it is.

Life has no order, unless you count that which is chaos.

Order ruins the being of men that think bigger than others.

The sun did not waste time of the moon during the morning.

Moonlight does not compare to the bright rays of day.

If the starts out shine the clouds, does the moon have hope?

If you succeed in the presence of me, am I to blame?

I hold your fist within a kiss, because I am alone.

You take it back, giving the gift of a slap, am I to blame?

My ears are sticky with brains and stars, but it is warm.

I dance with the devil when my life is too good.

Man asks for God when the sun shines on them.

When a cloud covers the dead, they turn their heads.

If we are dying is there a point in trying?

Fear will keep you from where you need to be.

There is no destiny only the tears of the empty.

Please, run when the shadows go to sleep.

Do not follow where I run to.

Then they might come after you.

If you dare go where I sleep,

Then you have gone too deep.

If you do what I do,

Then you will

Go mad

Too.

While I was there I lost all care, disappearing into my own mind.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
