Lady Green Eyes

There is a lady that hardly anyone knows
Simple and modest from her head to her toes
The Kentucky Farmlands she calls her home
Lady Green Eyes

For 20 years she’s been around,
Sheltered in life, she’s never been allowed
To see the world in her own eyes, til now
Lady Green Eyes

Searching for love, a soulmate of her own
“Your time will come”, they say, but she doesn’t know
Oh, will she always be alone?
Lady Green Eyes

She’s different from most, the undeniable fact
By her walk, by her talk, by her very act
The others think she’s odd, the others think she’s whack
Lady Green Eyes

But why should she care what the other people think?
She lives for herself, and just like a wink
she’ll charm the hearts of even the coldest she meets
