Sometimes writing poetry, especially on the same topics, can get pretty difficult. All writers, big or small, will one day hit the notorious writer's block. To conquer the great wall some might do some abstract thinking (i.e. looking around a room and conjure up ideas by one of the first things you see and branching off of those ideas). However, this time I have decided to use an online poetry idea generator for inspiration.
These are the beautiful works of art that were made:
1. Scribble Madly About Palm Trees Then Write Another, Totally Different Poem About Something Else in 30 Seconds
Palm tree, how lovely are your branches.
So green and so marvelous, I can't help but think of how beautiful you would be sitting outside my window and waving to me.
My, oh my, how lovely are your branches.
Wooden table, I see you sitting in front of me and holding my drink that I just bought.
There is a woman resting her legs on you.
You deserve so much more than to have those white crocs touching you.
2. Threaten Acid As A Sacrifice To The Sun
And I said to thee, Sun, for you are too bright to have others behold you. For I was born with sensitive eyes that only you can shatter with the flick of a light.
Please shed my brothers and sisters and I the sweet embrace of a dimmer morning and I will throw in your direction a force that destroys much more than a man who reaps revenge: acid.
3. Express Your Terrible Secret With Your Dying Breath
Hundred and thousands of hospital beds and you walk in to see the sight that all of them are empty but the one I lay in. Your head is filled with sorrow and your heart is filled with guilt.
"It should've been me, it should've been me."
You feel as if the cemeteries are empty and all the skeletons are living in your head, but before you get lost in your rapid-fire thoughts,
I grab your hand and whisper with my last dying breath,
"I did an illegal U-Turn in your car while you were sleeping."
Silence.
4. Call The Landlord About Country Music Chummily
The ringing is almost deafening until you finally picked up the phone. I hear you sigh as I whispered, "I can take you for a ride on my big green tractor." You finish the verse and we belted out the ending, "As long as I'm with you, it really don't matter."
You pause, and I think it's because maybe silence is louder than the words about to come out of your mouth.
"Your rent is two weeks late."
Silence.
5. Clear Your Throat Before Addressing Boredom Behind Someone's Back
I remember Mondays were for coffee houses and evenings laced with laughter and puns and I remember Tuesdays were filled with running around to destinations unknown. Wednesdays were a self-loving day and Thursdays were for who knows what. I remember Fridays were for working together and Saturdays were for adventures.
Sundays are filled with nights of lounging about while chanting over and over, "I want to do whatever you want to do," and, "Well I want to do whatever you want to do as well."
You would walk away from me and I can almost see the tears running down your face as I whispered to the other person next to me.
After a silent second you can hear my throat clearing,
"Maybe we should call it a night."
