What is happy and even more fun than finals week? Could it be the fact that you are finally done? Maybe your grades are exactly where you want them. It could be that your family is taking a long vacation somewhere tropical. Perhaps you and your significant other have great plans lying ahead? It doesn't matter what makes you happy because I believe we can all agree on one thing.

Summer is coming and we couldn't be more thrilled.

It is finally time to break out the shorts, the sandals, the bathing suits and more. The sun is here to stay for a bit and that brightens our personalities and moods more than a snowy and disgusting winter every could. It is time to have those famous summer bonfires and walks around town.

To get everyone in the thrilling mood of, "Yes! School is over and finals are terminated," here is a poem about the summer that lies ahead once this agonizing week of studying, crying, and dying is completely over with:

Finals make you cry

And the questions make you whine

The study habits are rare

When you're thinking of the summer fairs

Splish splash and all that comes with it

The music and the habits that you inhibit

Family vacations are a yearly thing

When you have Disney up your sleeve

Don't spend your days wasting away

Behind the doors of your yesterday

Party with friends and love like no other

Because you never know if you'll have another

Summer is a beautiful season and is the time of year in this kind of area that we live in to brighten our moods. Everything is finally blooming or is already bloomed and the doom and gloom from seasons past is finally gone for a few months. Friends and family are able to get together to be outside with one another. The smells of the hamburgers and hot dogs cooking in the air gets us excited for what is to come. The year has come and gone so quick that we may not know what to do with ourselves when summer finally hits. We take each day one by one and hope that this season doesn't fly by too fast. Cherish the moments with everyone you're around and have the time of your life. We only live one life and what better way than to make it the best of your years by having such a thrilling time during the months where the sun is out all the time?

Have fun this summer and don't let anyone drag you down. Enjoy the sunshine, the tans, the pools, the vacations and so much more. Forget about your troubles and never let anyone tell you otherwise. Summer is a time to rejuvenate ourselves and it is finally time once again.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
