That Playlist You Need for Your Bad Day

We all have that one day when you think the world is against you and everyone around you totally sucks.  When this day comes, your iTunes’ library suddenly sucks too and no song understands you. Well I’m here to save you and nip that bad day in the bud before you go into full diva mode. My solution for you is this playlist. This playlist will understand you, what you are feeling, and suddenly make the world seem like a much better place to you on that day.

1. Kid Cudi’s “Soundtrack 2 My Life”
Start the playlist off with some good old hip-hop. Walk to the beat like a bad ass and rap along to get that initial anger out. Let’s face it, we all have at least 99 problems with “bitches.”

2. Leona Lewis’ “Happy”
Be mad at the world for a few minutes.  Leona Lewis totally gets how you feel and, after all, she practically wrote this song for you.

3. Beyoncé’s “If I Were a Boy”
No playlist is complete without some words of wisdom from Queen B. This one is optional for an average bad day, but a MUST for boy-imposed bad day. Nothing feels better than Beyoncé understanding how you feel.

4. John Mayer’s “Gravity”
John Mayer slows it down a little and allows you to get lost in thoughts. Get your final self-pity of the day out.

5. Fergie’s “Big Girls Don’t Cry”
This one calls for some out loud jamming. Throw it back to that middle school breakup that caused you to listen to this song on repeat and cry your eyes out. Finally, you’ll crack your first smile of the day because you realize how stupid you were in middle school.

6. Daniel Powter’s “Bad Day”
Okay, maybe your life is not so bad, and you're just having just a bad day. Halfway through the song you realize you’ve forgotten all about your bad mood because you were so lost in the Tweet-able lyrics and couldn’t figure out which lyric would be the best way to inform every Twitter follower of your bad day.

7. Miley Cyrus’ “The Climb”
Just in case you haven’t got over the fact that the world isn’t against you, Miley reminds you that this is just a small problem that you will eventually conquer. If anything, Miley is having a much worse day than you because at least your hair still rocks.

8. Colbie Caillat’s “Bubbly”
What a happy song to keep up that good mindset you’ve got now. It is quite impossible to sing along without a smile; try it out! You have to realize that actual sadness only lasts twelve minutes; any more than twelve minutes is self-imposed. Get over it! It could be much worse.

 9. Natasha Beddingfield’s “Unwritten”
This song is empowering: “Today is where your book begins, the rest is still unwritten.” Get back to the source of your bad mood and fix it! Hey, you’ve got the same amount of hours in a day as Beyoncé.

10. Jesse McCartney’s “Beautiful Soul”
This feel good song will lock up that bad day whether you’re driving, singing, or dancing to this song. There is nothing like the feeling that Jesse McCartney is in love with you for a few minutes.

11. Louis Armstrong’s “What a Wonderful World”
Finally, stop and look around for a second. Look how beautiful it is. Look how far you’ve come and how much you’ve accomplished to get to where you are. Now go enjoy today, you deserve it!

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
