Planet Coaster: The Revamp of the Decade

In the early 2000’s, computer simulation games were all the rage. One series of games in particular took over my preteen years by storm. The one, the only, the notorious Roller Coaster Tycoon! For those of you who aren’t aware of what that is, RCT was a construction and management game that simulated amusement park creations along with the creative capabilities to change anything and everything from landscape, guests, and scenarios.

In early 2015, Frontier Developments, the company who had developed the third game in the Roller Coaster Tycoon series announced in late January of 2015 their plans for a completely revamped and revitalized amusement park style simulation game called Planet Coaster. Since then the company offered two playable Beta and Alpha versions for users to play, and their reception before the pre-release was met with outstanding praise. Planet Coaster has officially been released as of November 17th, 2016. In this article I would like to highlight to my readers all the amazing new features this game has to offer for that little imaginer inside of you.


THEMES

Unlike RCT, Planet Coaster offers a wide variety of thousands of unique mix & match themes that can be tied into any building component you desire. This version allows you to combine and intersect items in any way, position, or size. The ability to articulate full scale buildings and relics is one of the many ways you can manipulate the pieces at your disposal. With a little time and imagination you could construct towering medieval castles, pirate cursed badlands, or a futuristic oasis.


MANAGE

Anything you say goes around these parts. In Planet Coaster you are literally the brains of the operation. The in game engine allows you to control everything from maintaining guests desires, money, reactions to certain rides/ events, employees, profits, decorations and so much more! Nothing is off limits, and every tweak you make will bring you one step closer to creating the ultimate theme park in the universe.

An entire community within Planet Coaster is waiting for you! It’s never been easier to access the best handmade creations in order to grow your amusement park to new heights. This unique share feature allows you to download creations from your friends, popular designers, or anyone in the world. You can even submit your own creations for others to see and use in their parks as well. Your parks will be filled to the brim with marvelous wonders in no time thanks to the intricate design tool.
