As Ibn Battuta once said, "traveling makes you speechless and then turns you into a storyteller." Traveling has been a passion of mine since I was a little girl. My parents have taken me on multiple trips growing up and they have made me the woman I am today.
Traveling and experiencing different cultures keeps one open minded, boosts creativity, helps one with problem solving and is always a humbling experience. In today's society, the idea of money consumes us and can threaten our mental health. In order to be healthy we must take time to rest our minds, and traveling does just that. So let's get started on where to travel this fall!
1. Jackson Hole, WY.
This area is a common stomping ground for wild animals, including bears. Jackson Hole is ideal for camping and hiking with beautiful scenery. Visiting in the fall would be considered offseason which would make your trip cheaper and much more relaxing with less tourists. This is the perfect place to cozy up by the fire in your favorite sweater with a delicious cup of hot chocolate!
2. Albuquerque, NM.
Albuquerque has the International Balloon Fiesta that takes place in October. The New Mexico skies are painted with hundreds of balloons. During this event there is something for everyone to enjoy during the day, and at night the balloon glow creates a magical night landscape. This is the perfect photography opportunity so do not forget your camera!
3. Nashville, TN.
This is the perfect time to visit Music City as it lives up to its name especially in the fall. Nashville hosts the Independent Music Festival, American Festival, Music City Food & Wine Festival, and Southern Festival of Books. Along with Nashville being absolutely beautiful in the fall there are plenty of events to attend throughout October and November.
4. Salt Lake City, UT.
The Utah State Fair takes place in September along with its rodeo and Western Music Festival. The fall months are great for traveling due to thin crowds, chance to see bright foliage while biking or hiking alone Big or Little Cottonwood canyons, and lowest prices. Last but not least you can't forget about Oktoberfest that lasts nearly two months at Snowbird!
5. Denver, CO.
When thinking of Denver one might imagine biking, hiking, camping, the crisp air, and mountains. Though you will not be disappointed by any of those things, there is plenty more to see and do. A main attraction is Little Man Ice Cream where the smell of homemade waffle cones will never leave you! You can also enjoy the charming twinkling lights at Larimer Square, here you will find unique dining and shopping.While you are venturing to new places you will explore blocks upon blocks of incredible street art!
6. New Orleans, LA.
It does not matter the time of year, this city never sleeps. If you're looking for the night life or to explore beautiful plantations it is time to book your road trip. New Orleans offers things to do for all ages. One might enjoy the adrenaline of alligators, but others might enjoy the endless party of Bourbon Street! Learn all about New Orlean's history with their ghost tours and endless voodoo shops. You can also find one of a kind art and delicious beignets. If you are a lover of sea food this is your ultimate stop! Do not leave without slurping an oyster, getting your palm read at the French Quarter, visiting the world famous Cafe Du Monde, listening to Jazz, and getting beads at Mardi Gras!
