People who know me that the way to my heart is through my stomach. My mother told me once, “Pizza is a lot like people. Some, like cheese, are predictable and will be there for you no matter what. Some will be unpredictable and live to surprise you like anchovies”. Pizza is life for me. Anyone who knows me knows that pizza is my ride or die food. Nothing will ever change that. There are few people that have been there for me as much as pizza has for me. Those people are loyal beyond reason and I call them my best friends.
Not really sure when I started being so obsessed with this food that has won my heart over. When I was little, my mother made sure I had a well-rounded diet. She made sure I had all my vegetables and fruits so I was healthy and fully functioning. However, the day I always looked forward to was Fridays. Why you might ask? Every Friday was "Pizza Friday" in my household. Every Friday, I looked forward to the gorgeous piece of food that made my day just a little better. When I got to high school, my love for pizza started to grow even more. There was a line in the cafeteria that served pizza every day. At that moment in my life, I almost cried. Obviously, I didn’t eat pizza every day in high school. Just 4 out of 5 the days.
Am I picky about my pizza? To the question, I would answer with a straight up no. Every kind of pizza is my favorite to me. Frozen, delivery, homemade, you name it and I will eat it. My own personal motto that I live by is that any pizza can be a personal pan pizza if you try hard enough. However, I am 5 kinds of impatient when it comes to my pizza. I’m that person that microwaves frozen pizzas that aren’t supposed to be microwaved. Seriously, it clearly states on the box, “Do not microwave”. Oh well, I haven’t died yet, to the surprise of all my friends.
If I had to pick my favorite kind of crust on my pizza, it would be stuffed crust. I discovered how much I loved this magical invention a year and half ago and have never looked back. Stuffed crust is worth the extra money I pay every time. Think about it. It is like getting additional pizza within the pizza. How can I go wrong with that?
I’m pretty sure I have a pizza problem if it can be a problem. Update: it is never the problem, always the solution. People say I eat too much pizza and I could be "malnourished" and that I need to "eat more vegetables" . To them I say, "I'm living my life one slice at a time." Day or night, pizza has got my back no matter what. People will come and go; pizza is always there.
