Tishomingo State Park
If you're looking for a good place to take a quick hike and get some nature photos, this is the place for you. There's a beautiful bridge that starts you off on your fun-filled adventure. The bridge goes over a river that you will eventually see later. Throughout the park, there are small waterfalls, cool rocks, and some huge trees.
Natchez
This town looks like it came out of a Southern Living magazine. It has some old houses/mansions that you can tour and get to see the historical side of Natchez. These houses are also wonderful if you want some real nice pictures that look like they came from HGTV or you just want some neat abandon house pics.
Memphis
Okay, so technically this is sort of in Tennessee but if you haven't been here, you need to go. First off, it has one of the best zoos ever. Get you some pictures with some animals. Second, it has an IKEA. Now, I have only been to IKEA once, but it has some nice places inside where you can take pictures of different rooms and be artsy if you want to. It also has Graceland, which you can go and take pictures of where Elvis lived and of his airplane.
Starkville
The Sam D. Hamilton Noxubee National Wildlife Refuge is one of my favorite places to visit whenever school is in session at Mississippi State. It has some amazing scenery and this beautiful lake where sunsets look so incredible on. It also has some great walking trails and has good spots for hammocking too. While you're in Starkville, check out 929 and get yourself a nice drink of coffee. This place is so hipster and makes a great spot for studying or hanging out with friends.
Red Bluff
Foxworth, MS is a small town but that's where one of my favorite adventures is located. Red Bluff is this huge canyon looking place that your camera will love. It's the perfect place for having fun and for seeing God's beauty. You can walk, you can climb, you can stand amaze at everything Red Bluff has to offer.
Gulfport
If you want to go down a little closer to the beach, then Gulfport, MS is for you. It has golf courses, deep sea fishing trips, the beach, and so much more. It also has some amazing seafood restaurants that are to die for. You can even go to the Institute for Marine Mammal Studies and swim with dolphins. I have not swam with any dolphins here yet, but I heard it's totally worth it.
Rowan Oak
If you want to take a little trip close to the Oxford area, then visit Rowan Oak. It's this huge house that is totally picture worthy and it has a self-guided tour where you can learn about the history of the house. Also, the trees around the house are very majestic so you can take some pictures of them too!
