So addiction. You've heard of it. You might have something you're naturally prone to. This can be anything from cigarettes, weed, drugs, the gym, or, better yet, your phone. That small handheld device you usually carry every single day of every single second, yeah it's a natural habit leading to a world of phone addiction.
Are you someone that's typically seen texting or snap chatting on your phone while driving? Or how about when you're at a stoplight? Don't lie. You've probably spent those 15 seconds checking out your phone instead of eyeing the road like a responsible driver should. Matter of fact, you've probably done it over a dozen times in a week. I know I have (guilty as charged).
In this technologically advanced world we live in, everything is constantly "hitting us up." It may be a text, a notification buzz, those numerous likes on Instagram or Facebook, or just random numbers blowing up your phone like crazy. Sometimes you want to scream and throw your phone into the river and never look at it. Yet at the same time, without your phone, you feel lost or empty.
A recent study shows that we spent about 400 hours a week on our phones. Whether talking, texting, or Snapchatting, our phones are part of our daily lives 24/7.
So the big question is, how can we lessen our invested time away from the phone? Exploring the outdoors? Adventuring? You decide.
“Finally, brethren, whatever is true, whatever is honorable, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is of good repute, if there is any excellence and if anything worthy of praise, dwell on these things.” Philippians 4:8
