When it comes to friends we look for typical qualities such as similar sense of humor, trustworthiness, loyalty, etc. We also want people that are fun to be around and that we have a lot in common with. A person may have the "typical" qualities we search for, but there are a few other qualities that you need to be looking for. If they have the qualities listed below, then you need to cut those people out of your life because you don't need that negativity.

1. Don’t like dogs

Dog people are typically more loyal, active, and fun-loving. If they don't like dogs then they probably like cats. Cat people are usually more lazy, sassy, and can be a little bit feisty. You don't like anyone who doesn't love dogs.

2. Don’t like bacon

Bacon is a staple of American culture. If you don't like bacon can you even be a true American? The answer is no. No you cannot.

3. Don’t like mac and cheese

I don't know what kind of person doesn't like mac and cheese, probably because I'm not friends with them. It is a food that can be eaten at any time of the day. What's not to like?

4. Don’t like Christmas music/movies

Nobody likes to be around a scrooge during the holiday season. If they don't like Christmas movie marathons and listening to Christmas music 24 hours a day for a whole month (or more because who are you kidding, you start it at least 2 months in advance), then you don't need to be around them especially during the holidays.

5. Don’t watch Netflix

Netflix is life and I'm not exactly sure if there are still people out there that don't watch it, but if there are then they are probably judging you. They can't seem to understand why you get so caught up in a show that you would sit in the same spot for hours just to see how it ends. They just don't understand.

6. Those that think calories count after 8 pm

You can eat whatever you want past 8 pm because calories don't count. Don't let anyone tell you otherwise.

7. Don’t like pizza

What's there not to like? You can literally put anything on some dough and call it a pizza. There is so much potential with this delicious dish. If they don't like pizza then you shouldn't like them.

8. Don’t like Disney movies

Disney movies are great no matter what age you are! They teach life lessons, have wonderful songs that you can't get out of your head, and have comedy, so why are there people that don't like them?

9. Think the second High School Musical is the best one

I mean... why? Just why?

10. Those who prefer Pepsi to Coke

Don't trust people who prefer Pepsi to Coke.

For as long as I can remember, I have been listening to The Beatles. Every year, my mom would appropriately blast “Birthday” on anyone’s birthday. I knew all of the words to “Back In The U.S.S.R” by the time I was 5 (Even though I had no idea what or where the U.S.S.R was). I grew up with John, Paul, George, and Ringo instead Justin, JC, Joey, Chris and Lance (I had to google N*SYNC to remember their names). The highlight of my short life was Paul McCartney in concert twice. I’m not someone to “fangirl” but those days I fangirled hard. The music of The Beatles has gotten me through everything. Their songs have brought me more joy, peace, and comfort. I can listen to them in any situation and find what I need. Here are the best lyrics from The Beatles for every and any occasion.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
