As social creatures, people tend to romanticize the idea of a knight in shining armor all too often. The truth is that our knight in shining armor already knows our names. No need to search any further.

A gigantic problem in our society is that we seek to empower ourselves and to set ourselves free, but that's impossible. This is because all people are imperfect and evil is innate in all of us. The only one who has the power to purify us is, you guessed it, Jesus.

As the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways and my thoughts than your thoughts. (Isaiah 55:9 NIV)

There is nobody on this earth whose ways are higher than God's ways. People are all human and we actually all need Jesus equally. That being said, people will always fail us because we aren't even equipped to carry our own burdens, much less each others'. This isn't to say that it's not comforting to hug a friend when you're sad, but that isn't a solid foundation. There has only ever been one person in the history of all the earth who can bear our burdens and give us complete rest -- and that's Jesus.

If you're searching for a savior through human relationships, you're never going to find it.

Relying on another sinner to make/keep you happy isn't going to do anything except exhaust that person and when that happens, you're going to end up on the unfortunate end of the situation since people will abandon you. People will disappoint you. To expect anything else is absurd.

Salvation is found in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven given to mankind by which we must be saved. (Acts 4:12 NIV)

Delight yourself in the Lord, and he will give you the desires of your heart. (Psalm 37:4 ESV)

Restlessly searching for fulfillment in other people or things is essentially telling Jesus that He is not enough, when He is actually the only thing that is enough. He can crawl into your pit with you and He can banish any and all demonic things that hang over your head.

Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. (Matthew 11:28 NIV)

Your knight in shining armor already hung on a cross for you more than 2,000 years ago. Pursue that.

In honor of Mother’s Day, I have been thinking of all the things my mom does for my family and me. Although I couldn’t write nearly all of them, here are a few things that moms do for us.

They find that shirt that’s right in front of you, but just you can’t seem to find.

10 Reasons To Thank Your Best Friend

Take the time to thank that one friend in your life you will never let go of.

999
Thank You on wooden blocks

1. Thank you for being the one I can always count on to be honest.

A true friend will tell you if the shirt is ugly, or at least ask to borrow it and "accidentally" burn it.

2. Thank you for accepting me for who I am.

A best friend will love you regardless of the stale french fries you left on the floor of your car, or when you had lice in 8th grade and no one wanted to talk to you.

Do as I say, not as I do.

Your eyes widen in horror as you stare at your phone. Beads of sweat begin to saturate your palm as your fingers tremble in fear. The illuminated screen reads, "Missed Call: Mom."

Growing up with strict parents, you learn that a few things go unsaid. Manners are everything. Never talk back. Do as you're told without question. Most importantly, you develop a system and catch on to these quirks that strict parents have so that you can play their game and do what you want.

"Friends" maybe didn’t have everything right or realistic all the time, but they did have enough episodes to create countless reaction GIFs and enough awesomeness to create, well, the legacy they did. Something else that is timeless, a little rough, but memorable? Living away from the comforts of home. Whether you have an apartment, a dorm, your first house, or some sort of residence that is not the house you grew up in, I’m sure you can relate to most of these!
