Creating World Peace - One move at a time

"An eye for an eye makes the whole world blind," said by one of the most inspiring people in the world, the late Mahatma Gandhi. As we all know, throughout history we have had a lot of inspirational speakers fighting for world peace, Martin Luther King, Mother Teresa, and even Bob Marley with the lyrics from his music, which brings me to my point, Art has a very big influence on people's opinions and perspectives, and many ask, "How do they do it?"

Well, the answer is quite simple, they have goals that they want to achieve throughout their pieces of art. Whichever artist who achieves his/her goal, is pretty amazing in my opinion, but the real question is, how do they influence world peace? Could they even do it? Do you ever think of a world with no borders? No hatred against one another? Respect for everyone?

Some artists hoped they could do that, going back to Bob Marley. He dedicated his music to people against hatred, he pushed people to love one another, he created many songs about peace in which two of them were "Get up, stand up", and "War." His lyrics were inspiring, he wanted to free people of their misery and being blindsided by the government. He says in the song Get up, Stand up, " You can fool some people sometimes, but you can't fool all the people all the time. So now we see the light. We gonna stand up for our rights."

He wanted others to follow him to create world peace. He created Anti-War protests where peace was mentioned. The late, but great Bob Marley was one of the many artists who stood up for his country's peace, but we still forgot about him. Why is that? The 60s and early 70s were all about peace.

They used art to express themselves, peace signs everywhere, people spreading love, nowadays most songs and art are about hatred, why? Why did all of that change? Yes, it was three decades ago, but if we really wanted it, we could still be living in peace instead of hate and war.

The first thing we would need to do is communicate with one another, respect each other, and help others out. Art then was successful to create the peace and happiness everyone loved, and we can start that again. Don't let the world be destroyed. We have to take a stand and make this world a happier place again.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
