As an avid wearer of all thing Patagonia, I support a great company that I'm sure many others support without even knowing all the good that they actually do. We all know Patagonia is a fan favorite from the jackets and backpacks to the hats! But, did you know that their company is all about doing good? Did you know that 1% of their sales goes to environmental non profits?! This company has an incredible mission statement that they truly do live out every day: "Build the best product, cause no unnecessary harm, use business to inspire and implement solutions to the environmental crisis". This is a company that cares more about their mission than their profits.
1. Durable products
This brand was literally made to adventure! Not only do they look great but the quality is top notch and cannot be beat! They create things with the intent to be used and to last, not to be quickly replaced because it broke or was worn down! This company cares about products lasting because they recognize that everything they make costs the planet more than it gets in return.
2. Fashionable
Who doesn't love cute clothes and accessories etc that are functional. Not only are they fashionable now, but in the late sixties, the founder of Patagonia introduced colorful active wear to the outdoor climbing customers. Not only do they have colorful jackets, but some of the most unique styles and patterns that you could ever imagine to fit whatever activity you are going to tackle!
3. Employees have great benefits
Not only do they have benefits for their employees but they have a great work culture! Who wouldn't want to work for a company that see's themselves as the ultimate customer for the products they produce!
4. They support the environment
At one point Patagonia's top seller was a rock climbing tool that began to deface land mark climbs, rather ignoring the issue as many other companies would from the aspect of money-- They completely pulled away from that product and it's market. Not only did they pull away, but they promoted their own campaign, "clean climbing". This is a company that simply does well because they do good.
Not only do they not sell those products anymore, but they stopped the use of industrially grown cotton because of negative environmental impacts and they only use organically grown cotton! An even better fun fact is that Patagonia's clothing is ALL fully recyclable!!
If this isn't enough reason to invest in such a great company, then I don't know what to tell you besides the fact that they do good environmentally, and for their customers.
