Party Girls Don't Get Hurt

We all know the popular song Chandelier by Sia and its opening line: “Party girls don't get hurt". A line every (single) college girl tries to live by. So what's the truth? Do us so-called “party girls" truly get by without letting anything get under our skin or are we just as fragile as all the rest of the women out there?

So here it is, the secrets of your typical party girl:

You Drink Away The Pain.

Because when you're sad, there's really no better way to get over it than to drown your sorrows in 5 or so shots of cheap vodka and dance the night away like nothing even happened in the first place.

You Won't Let Anything Stand in The Way of Your Night Out.

It's YOUR night with YOUR friends, so who cares if you see him (boyfriend/ crush/ any other label of this generation for the boy you're talking to) with someone else because nothing can ruin your fun … more like you to pretend like it doesn't affect you at all so you can cry about it in private later.

You Tell Yourself There's Someone Better.

Chances are the boy you like is probably a tool, and if he's not … nope, he's definitely a tool. And just because you've been fishing for a while and haven't found a catch, doesn't mean that you won't. We go to a big school full of boys so there's certainly somebody out there better than the last one. Or at least that's what we gotta tell ourselves, am I right?!

You Say, “I'm Not Normally Like This."

Yes, you are. And if you aren't, the guy you spent the night with probably doesn't believe you.

You Don't Want a Boyfriend.

Or at least you say that you don't. But let's be honest, one-night stands are only for one night but what about the rest of the days of the week? Don't get me wrong, being single is fun but only for so long. And as much as we tell ourselves that we aren't lonely … we are. (Don't take this to heart ladies, I'm just saying, how nice would it be to actually have a date locked in when formal season comes around?!)

So there, you have it, the inside scoop as to what really goes on behind the party girl mask. Of course, there are always a few outliers, but for the most part, as much as we pretend we aren't, we are just like all the other emotional women population. But honestly ladies, keep smiling and dancing the night away because nothing can stand in the way of your night out. There's someone better out there, you can misbehave because you aren't normally like this, and you don't want a boyfriend anyway ... right? ;)

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
