What It's Like To Miss Your Pets At College, As Told By 'Parks and Recreation'
Chris Pratt

It's no secret that the worst part of college is leaving your pets behind. During the stress of studying, all you need is your dog or cat to snuggle with you and tell you everything is okay. While you can hang out with other dogs and cats at local animal shelter, you will always miss having your pet around.

1. You have to make a big deal out of saying goodbye to your pet before you go back to school or else you'll feel guilty about it until you see them again.

2. You decide to go to the local animal shelter to hug puppies and kittens to cope with missing your pet.

3. It makes you happier than you've been in a while.

4. You may get a little emotional when you see them.

5. And it takes all the willpower you have not to take all of them home and love them forever.

6. Then you remember that your pet is the cutest of all and you start to tell everyone about the best pet in the whole world.

7. Someone else says their pet is the best pet - but you know they're lying.

8. Then you remember your pet isn't with you.

9. And you wish you could spend your study time with the best pet ever instead of with loud people in the library. Your pet isn't with you, and you're sad and angry.

10. You miss your pet so much, the thought of coming home to see them starts to occupy your mind and takes over your work.

11. You may even start to equate your pet(s) to friends from home at this point.

12. Or your family.

13. When you finally come home, you don't want to get out of the house and be social - you need to spend quality time with your pet.

14. Seeing your pet recharges you so much that when you have to go back to college, you plan a different way of introducing yourself.

15. And when you finally leave and say goodbye to your pet again, the cycle starts over.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
