1. Call me when you get there

The one statement that you commonly say: “Will do!” to and naturally forget, and then you receive an angry, urgent, text or phone call from your parent an hour later.

2. Be safe!

It’s the given reminder to make good decisions.

3. Will the parents be home?

This is the one question teenagers hate to hear; it is the question that will make and break your plans. Yet, in the long run, you probably should not be going to that “causal” party that quickly turns into an uncontrollable rager, leading you to get into massive trouble.

4. Wear a seatbelt

Yes, you are only going around the block, but the majority of car accidents happen 1 mile away from your home.

5. Good luck on your test

You have been studying days for your last calculus test that will make or break your grade in the class; this positive reinforcement that you can achieve that A!

6. Have a great day!

Of course it is raining on a Monday, you woke up late, your hair just won’t cooperate and you just spilt coffee all over your new Anthropologie top, but hey, have a great day, it only can get better from here!

7. Call me if you need me

Calling your parent is definitely your last resort, but it always great to know they are only a phone call away and ready to help if needed.

8. You can do it!

When the possible seems actually impossible, and the goal is unattainable, this is the statement that reinforces that someone believes in you.

9. Where are you?

The just checking to make sure you're "alive and well" question.

10. I believe in you

This statement is positive reinforcement that gives you the confidence to achieve the goal at hand.

11. Make good choices

It is inevitable that you will not always make the right choice, but it is important to recognize when you are making the wrong one.

12. Do you want to talk about it?

This is the question you need at the moment. You have been waiting to vent all day, and it is definitely the worst day in history and you need someone on your side.

13. I am proud of you

This is probably the best statement to ever receive. Knowing that your parents are proud of what you accomplished is one of the greatest satisfactions.

14. No you cannot go

This is one of the most aggravating statements to receive. After careful planning and constructing the best possible plan to have a weekend getaway with your friends, your parents crush your plans.

15. No you cannot wear that

That skintight yellow dress that you want to wear to the homecoming dance is not flattering and someone needed to tell you.

16. No you cannot go to that concert

Going to a rap concert at age 15 with just your best friend is definitely not the place for a young teenager to be, wait until you are a little older.

17. NO!

Hearing the word “no” absolutely stinks, but there is a reason why your parents do not want you to do something. They are not trying ruin your life, even though it feels like it in the moment

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
