We all come to a point in our lives where we have to pack. Whether it's for a vacation, a weekend get away, or even moving out there's packing involved somewhere. Packing to move in my opinion is the worst because you literally are packing up your whole life. Since I started college, I've had to do this a few times in my life and each time I dread it more and more (and not because I have more and more things). With having to pack so much I've realized that I go through stages when I pack lol. Disclaimer: these can happen in any order and they could also repeat.

1. "I don't want to do this."

When you have no motivation what-so-ever too pack and honestly who actually has motivation to pack up their whole room to go to college and I can't even bare to think of packing a house or even an apartment.

2. "Where do I even start?"

This stage is one of the ones that I know all too well. Its when you catch yourself just staring at your stuff and have no idea where to start. What clothes do i pack first? Should I pack the small things first? What about the stuff that I don't use?

3. "I guess I have to do this."

This is basically the acceptance stage and when you actually start packing. Whether its putting a few things in a box or its actually packing a whole box both are accomplishments nonetheless.

4. Memory lane

It's that picture or note that you find and it triggers a memory. This tends to happen to me every time I pack lol. Sometimes I do this to myself since a lot of my notes and stuff like that are all in a box but still same the same thing happens.

5. "I have too much shit" phase

Whether you're looking at all the stuff that you have packed or all the stuff still need to, sometimes theres a point where you ask yourself why do i have so much shit or where did it all come from? Even though it doesn't really matter since you're gonna wanna it all anyway.

6. "Look, I'm halfway there."

"OH WE'RE HALFWAY THERE" Kinda self explanatory but the excitement of the halfway point needs to be recognized. Its an accomplishment and you need to reward yourself

7. Prolonged packing

Because who actually wants to pack and you just make excuse after excuse. from dance parties while packing or even saying that you still have time when you know you actually don't.

8. "Oh shit, I gotta finish packing."

That realization that you actually have to move soon (most likely the next day) and you have to hurry and pack everything.

9. 'Wow I'm finally done."

IT'S FINALLY DONE. You're finally finished. Bless up. Go celebrate. but we all know what comes next....unpacking.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
