10 Things I'm Packing For Disney World

Packing for vacations can be daunting and sometimes a packing list can be extremely helpful!

My family and I will be going on vacation to Animal Kingdom at Disney World this Memorial Day Weekend. I could not be more excited! We reserved tickets, hotel rooms, budgeted for snacks and new sets of Mickey ears, but we found the hardest part of planning to be knowing what to pack. I present to you: a sneak peak at my Disney World Packing List!

Backpack/Draw String Bag

I suggest bringing a backpack or draw string bag over bringing a purse. This way you can fit more items like ponchos, snacks, etc, into one bag. These are also easier to hold during long walks around the parks!

Water Bottle

It can be hot out at these parks! Make sure to remember to hydrate by bringing your own water bottle. This is also important because you'll want to avoid expensive theme park prices for water.

2-3 Comfortable Masks

I think this one might be one of the most important things to bring for a trip to Disney World this year! Masks are required to be worn throughout all of the Disney Parks as a precautionary measure for the COVID-19 pandemic. You'll want to bring a mask that is comfortable enough to be worn for several hours. I also suggest bringing an extra mask just in case you sweat a lot, accidentally bring it with you on a water-based ride, or get food on it.

These Shoes Are Made For Walking

You'll definitely want to bring comfortable shoes to walk in! You will likely walk between 10 and 15 miles during your time at the park and probably want to avoid blisters at all costs! But, if you really want to wear heels in your pictures in front of Cinderella's castle, you could probably fit them into your backpack.

Deodorant

I know this might seem like an obvious thing to pack, but it is so important! Disney World is located in Central Florida where it is almost always humid and hot. You don't want to start to smell or have pit stains in your Instagram photos!

Sunscreen

Sunscreen is so important in the Sunshine state of Florida. You'll want to avoid a sunburn or tan lines from your face mask as much as possible!

Hand Sanitizer

1. Hand Sanitizer@disneypotter

The Disney Parks will have hand sanitizer regularly available at the parks to help stop the spread of COVID-19. However, you may still want to bring some of your own. If the Disney hand sanitizer smells anything like the ones they give out on campus at FSU...yikes!

What If It Rains?

You won't want to ruin your super cute outfit or have to wear soggy clothes for the rest of the day. This can be solved in two ways.

1. A Poncho or Raincoat

2. An extra pair of clothes

Extra Hair Ties

I always suggest bringing extra hair ties when you go on trips. Keeping your hair up and out of your face can be vital when it comes to rollercoasters, cute hairstyles for pictures, or for running after younger siblings or kids!

Phone Charger

3. You can't find love looking down on your phone. Cell Phone

A phone charger is a very important item to carry around nowadays. Personally, I will be using my phone as a camera for my trip, as well as, a means of communication between myself and my family members. I'd be in some hot water if my phone battery died! If you can relate to this scenario, I suggest bringing a phone charger!

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Challah vs. Easter Bread: A Delicious Dilemma

Is there really such a difference in Challah bread or Easter Bread?

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
