There are four categories an Overwatch hero can fall under: offense, defense, tank, and support. Some players like to try a little of each role while others feel more comfortable sticking with just one. Whichever role you use more often, it may say something about yourself.
Think about who you play as the most, or which role you are quick to go for before scrolling down and reading about what it says about you!
Offense
An offensive hero's primary goals include getting to the objective, pushing the payload, intimidate the enemies, and detect the area. These heroes have high-damage weapons and are talented duelists as they use their unique abilities to enable victory. However, their health pool tends to be lower than tanks and defense heroes.
If you main a hero from the offense category, you are a very direct person. You do whatever it takes to reach a goal, even if it involves pushing people away. You are always full of surprises and enjoy a good, harmful prank every once and a while.
Maybe you are the "parent" of the group, like Soldier: 76, or you're quick to change like Genji. You could have bitter feelings toward someone like Reaper. Whichever offense hero you main, you definitely prefer to be the leader of the group and push your team forward to victory.
Defense
Defense heroes guard objectives, establish choke points, and build a front. They are great for keeping enemies off an area. Their weapons can be long range and they can have the ability to build turrets or something to the side to help push enemies away.
You're someone who likes to stay to the side of situations. You don't mind being somewhere, but you tend to disassociate from things often while still trying to feel involved. At the same time, you love to take part in projects and topics as long as the attention doesn't turn to you.
Do you like to stay to the side while still causing chaos like Junkrat, or do you shoot for accuracy like Hanzo? Maybe you're passionate about your creations like Torbjorn. If you main anyone from this category, you are a more "to-the-side" type of person.
Tank
A tank hero is good for protecting allies, taking charge of the front line, and disrupting enemies. Their health max is usually high and have abilities to protect themselves and their teammates with shields and enemy control.
Playing as a tank hero makes you out to be a very strong person. This could mean physically, but mostly means you have a strong aura about yourself. You go through life with a thick skin, never letting others bring you down. Whenever anyone tries to bring you down, you are always ready to defend yourself.
You could allow your strength to protect others like Orisa or Reinhardt, or you use it to push forward in life like D.Va. Whichever hero you prefer, your strength lies within you.
Support
A support hero is meant for healing, buffing, and providing utility for their allies. They are meant to be good for dueling against their enemies by themselves and are better with their teammates doing the damage while they, well, support! They are great for increasing speed, damage output, and survival.
Playing as a support hero means you are the one your friends and family depends on when push comes to shove. You don't hesitate to help when it is needed and you are ready with a solution to a problem. You are a shoulder to cry on and you put someone else's feelings over your own. Sometimes this makes you forget to take care of yourself, but you find joy in helping others.
You could find joy in giving peace to others like Zenyatta, or you have a dark past that you try to forget about by helping others like Ana. In general. you're that friend anyone can rely on.
Video games can really show a lot about our personalities. They can help us escape from reality, but you can't always escape from who you were meant to be.
Whoever you play as, the world inside Overwatch will always need a hero like you.
