Inside the mind of my roommate...
To protect the anonymity of my interesting roommate, I will be using a fake nickname: Jordan. Jordan has recently fallen into a nocturnal sleep pattern due to his obsession with the hit game, Overwatch. The game revolves around players working together in teams of six to fight over objectives. Jordan’s negative attitude and abuse of teammates often leads to shouting matches and internal chaos. This popular shooter takes up most of his free time as he struggles to rank himself up to a higher division, only to fall tragically short and descend into a massive losing streak. After he quits in frustration the sun has already come up and it is then when he decides to sleep.
“The less he sleeps the more [Jordan] he reveals.” –Another Roommate
"He once walked into my room, laughed, then walked out." –Shayon Roy, Friend
"He does hourly checks. Sometimes I'll be in the kitchen at two in the morning and he'll peek his head out of his room, look around, then walk back inside of his room without saying anything." –Another Roommate
Jordan is extremely deluded and believes he is sometimes controlled by his alter ego, Michael. He enjoys wearing masks, such as this tasteful penguin:
In this mask, he goes wandering around re-introducing himself to his friends as this alternate personality. He is also a true culinary savant. Jordan expresses the greatest delicacy and attention to flavor when cooking and can identify most wines on sight. His love for food occasionally overtakes his sanity and he will name and lament the loss of individual pieces of pasta as they are eaten.
Those who are fans of the Super Smash Bros. game series may recognize Jordan as a washed up competitive player. I have interviewed him several times asking about his tactics and opinions related to the game. His answers were always incoherent and unrelated to the interview questions. Jordan is currently considering cutting Overwatch out of his life after realizing he is living a lonely and unfulfilled existence. He will most likely return to playing Smash and encounter the same problems with a new game.
