The Christian artist Mandisa has a song called "Overcomer." In the chorus of the song, she sings:
"You're an overcomer, Stay in the fight ‘til the final round, You're not going under, ‘Cause God is holding you right now, You might be down for a moment, Feeling like it's hopeless, That's when He reminds You, That you're an overcomer. You're an overcomer."
Have you ever felt just so burnt out? So stuck in a funk that you're not up for doing much of anything? We've all been there, trust me. It can be a hard place to be in. You feel discouraged, useless, and spiritually, mentally, and physically tired.
I want you to know that no matter how stuck you are feeling, you will overcome this. Anything that life throws at you, you will overcome it.
Luke 1:37 "For no word from God will ever fail."
God promises us that He will never leave us and God's Word never fails. Know that He won't leave us high and dry to fend for ourselves. We've got God on our side and He will pull us through whatever we are facing.
1 John 4:4, "You, dear children, are from God and have overcome them, because the one who is in you is greater than the one who is in the world."
Remember that God is with you! No matter how alone you feel, how stuck, or how discouraged, God is always with you! You are never truly alone. He's got a plan for you, so when you feel worn out, turn to God for your strength. The Bible says, "ask and you shall receive." Ask God for strength and restoration to be the best that you can be during the times that you feel drained.
1 Timothy 6:12, "Fight the good fight of the faith. Take hold of the eternal life to which you were called when you made your good confession in the presence of many witnesses."
Finally, don't give up. With the knowledge that God keeps His promises and the strength that you have asked Him for, continue to fight the good fight of faith. On the days that everything just seems to be going wrong, or the days that you just feel so drained and exhausted, keep on going. Live the life that God has called you to live and be the best that you can be. Keep a positive attitude and be God's light on this earth, so that you can bring people to His kingdom.
So all in all, ask for restoration and that God pulls you out of this funk that you're in. Abide in Him and He will abide in you. Talk to Him about what you're feeling and where your heart is at and He will help you. It may not be immediate, but remember that God's timing is perfect.
And most importantly, remember that you are an overcomer.
