This is your official spoiler alert. Here it is: SPOILER ALERT. IF YOU HAVE NOT SEEN THE FIRST three SEASONS OF ORANGE IS THE NEW BLACK DO NOT READ ANY FURTHER.
Now with that said, season three of Netflix's hit show left us with a lot of questions. This wish list is all of the questions that need answers in season four. Since season four is right around the corner, let's check out the seven things that we HAVE to see.
Is Bennett coming back?
This is something that people seem to be divided on. As we saw in season three, Bennett up and left the show after he became overwhelmed by his relationship with Daya and her crazy family. Not to mention he has been threatened multiple times by Cesar: on mothers day, he mentioned the situation in a large group of people, almost hoping someone would hear. Cesar broke in and forced Bennett to give Cesar a tour of his place. He nonchalantly threatened one of the kid’s lives because the kid wasn’t eating french fries.
I mean the guy (Cesar) had a gun up to the kids face, in front of Bennett, because he wasn’t eating fries. So Cesar probably played a role in Bennett’s decision. One other thing that may have tipped the scale off the charts for Bennett is the fact that Caputo knows now, and Caputo’s advice to Bennett was to “remove yourself from the situation.” It looks like Bennett took Caputo’s advice.
But there is one thing that I think Bennett might have forgotten: that’s HIS child. As someone who spent most of his childhood growing up without a father, I can’t wish that on any baby, not even in a fictional realm.
My guess: I honestly have no idea. But I sure hope so.
What is going to happen to the prisoners that took part in the mass breakout?
Probably one of the greatest scenes in season three was the blunder of the maintenance people working on the fence. The result of their blunder was a breakout of massive proportions (granted they couldn’t have gone very far thanks to the lake and the forest, but still).
Obviously, they can’t send hundreds of inmates down the hill to maximum security or S.H.U. (the "shu") because there isn’t enough room there, and it would result in too much room in Litchfield. If season four is anything like season three, it won’t even bring it up, just like we never found out exactly what happened to Rosa after she broke out. She just ran over Vee, and we never saw her again. Personally, I’m still kind of salty about that.
My guess: Maybe they will rotate all the inmates into SHU? Like, sentence them all to a month or something but only send in as many as they can at a time? That’s my best guess.
What is going to happen to Daya’s baby?
The last thing we saw in regards to Daya and her baby is that she had a baby girl after some pretty serious complications. The baby was supposed to go to Pornstache’s mom, but Daya’s mom told Pornstache’s mom that the baby had died during labor.
Why did she do that? BECAUSE SHE’S THE SPAWN OF SATAN AND I HAVE ALWAYS HATED HER WITH A BURNING PASSION. I’m not going to get into that right now though because that’s a whole different article on its own. Maybe next week. Anyway, so now that the baby is not going to Pornstache’s mom, next in line is Cesar. But then, of course, he gets arrested. So right now all the children are being raised by the state.
Daya’s baby will probably be placed into foster care unless Daya gets out, or unless Bennett comes back. Personally, I really hope it’s the latter.
My guess: The baby will be placed into foster care.
What is going to happen to Alex?
As we saw in the season three finale, one of Kubra’s minions (named Aydin) managed to get a job as a corrections officer at Litchfield. This of course, happened after Alex returned to prison for violating her parole.
And don’t forget: she got out in the first place because she testified against Kubra in season two. All throughout season three, Alex was scared to death that Kubra was going to send someone to kill her for naming him. Piper thought she was just being paranoid, but in the finale, there stands Kubra’s minion, as a Litchfield CO. Personally, Alex is my favorite character. She calls people out on their B.S. and knows how to get what she wants. If Aydin does end up killing Alex, I will be pretty upset.
My guess: There will be tense encounters between Alex and Aydin all season long, and if he does kill her, it probably won’t be until the last episode.
Will they start to show scenes from maximum security?
At this point in the show, there have been 4 major characters who were sent down the hill to max and never seen from or heard from again, and they are as follows: Miss Claudette, Taslitz, Nicky, and most recently, Stella. Personally, I liked Claudette. She was a bit rough around the edges, but once I got to know her, she became a very likable character that I would’ve liked to see stay. Taslitz wasn’t that major of a character, but after she murdered an inmate thinking it was Vee, she had to go down. To be honest, though, the show never went into her backstory in as much detail as other characters, and I wasn’t too upset when she was sent to max.
Probably the most heartbreaking scene in season three is when Nicky gets sent to max. She was definitely a major character on the show, and she had some issues when she had access to drugs in season three. She wanted to get rid of it, but at the same time, she was an addict who made a stupid mistake. If you'll remember, she did put the drugs under Luscheck’s desk (It was a very moral grey area). Nicky was a very likable character, but what she did was a serious prison offense.
Stella was probably the best received new character of season three. She and Piper had a love affair that was fun to watch, but at the end of it, Piper turned into a totally new, controlling, vindictive person who got Stella sent to max for screwing with her. So now that all these beloved characters are in Max, will we start seeing some scenes from down the hill?
My guess: more than likely not, but a boy can dream.
Does Taystee make it out?
HERE’S ANOTHER SPOILER ALERT. IF YOU HAVEN’T SEEN THE SEASON FOUR TRAILER.
In the season four trailer, it shows Taystee answering the phone in Caputo’s office with a professional demeanor, and then again in an actual office, wearing real people clothes instead of the beige scrubs the prison forces them to wear. As we know, she has made it out before, but because of her lack of family and lack of places to go, she decides to steal a few small things from a convenience store and she ends up back in Litchfield.
However, this time, it might be the real deal. Maybe Phillip Morris called her after she got out because they were genuinely impressed with her skill at the dress for success event last season.
My guess: Maybe she does. We’ll see if it lasts this time.
Most importantly, what is Piper going to get herself into this season?
This is it. The million dollar question. The main character of the show didn’t have a very prominent role in the first half of the last season. In fact, we hardly saw her at all between Daya and John’s problems, and then the whole thing between Luscheck and Nicky.
However, when Piper started working in the sweatshop next to Stella, we started seeing a whole lot of both of them. In season one, Piper was a hot mess, trying to cope with the reality of being in prison, and trying to just get through her sentence unscathed. It didn’t really happen when she realized Alex was in there with her. In season two, Piper had her big fallout with Larry. I can almost guarantee we are not going to see again. (A friend of mine still insists that Larry is going to come back around and he and Piper are going to live happily ever after.) In season three, Piper turned into a manipulative b!+$% who controlled people to get whatever she wanted. So we will see what happens with her in season four.
My guess: I have no damn idea.
