Opposites Attract, they say

But they only say it when love happens despite the odds

When friendship happens despite the differences

But does it account for life and death?

Does it account for the bullets that attracts

Themselves into the bodies of black men?

Does it account for the predators that are attracted to the young unsuspecting girls?

Opposites attract…

What opposites are being favored in between those two words?

Tell me a time when fire and water didn't go up in smoke

Tell me a time when oil mixed with water

I'm not saying we can't get along

I'm just saying that this phrase is wrong

Are we so predetermined

To harbor hate

That a phrase is coined at the rarity

Of human equality?

No means yes

Hate gets more attention

Love is annoying

Men are still over women

Women despise men

White means live life

Black means dead

But ya know opposites attract

I'm looking for hope in this world

And your Pinterest quote doesn't interest me

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
