To the woman with rough hands,

Soft hands are considered a feminine quality, but just because your hands are rough, it does not make you less of a woman or less sexy. Your body has simply developed a protective layer.

Long days spent on the tractor, no anticipation for "quitting time" because the job is done when the task is completed.

Hours spent in the gym picking up your new personal best, chalk everywhere, and suddenly you are grateful for the callouses that prevent your hands from being sore, unlike the rest of your body.

Days out in the heat digging holes for the next plant or post, knowing your garden is going to provide food for you or your family throughout the summer.

Hours spent running around a clinic, preparing rooms for the next patient and making sure everything is completed in a timely manner so nobody is left waiting.

Waking early in the morning to arrive at a job dominated by men, but it's okay because you are as tough, if not tougher, and can handle the task at hand.

Toting a heavy duty belt, making sure to protect society from any possible threats.

You have worked hard to obtain the rough callouses on your palms. Maybe you have tried every lotion to soothe the roughness, but much like your work ethic, their persistence to return never fails, and you end up with rough callouses on your palms.This is nothing to be ashamed of. Whether they are a result of building a house, putting dinner on your table or someone else's, killing a workout, or chilling on your couch, your callouses are something to be proud of.

Don't let the opinion of anyone else have an effect on the way that you view yourself because your hands are calloused. YOU are amazing the way you are. You should keep working towards making yourself better and making the world a better place.
