Dear Uber Drivers,
I'm sure I speak for many when I say that Uber has touched our lives in a positive way. We want to say thank you. Thank you for being not only part of a service that takes us from point A to point B, but also for being a tour guide, therapist, and (dare I say) life-saver in some cases. Not all heroes wear capes.
First of all, thank you for letting us know what type of car you drive, as well as providing a friendly selfie so we know who to look for. It's kinda exciting to see who our driver is going to be.
Thank you for never standing us up. To assure us that you haven't forgotten about us, thanks for the phone calls every two minutes to update us on your location as well as the very personal text: "I am here where you at."
Thanks for knowing that "We'll be there in one minute, we dropped the pin in the wrong location!" really means "We'll be there in five, Amanda forgot her phone in the bathroom again." (Also, thanks for agreeing that the location on the app is different than the location in real life. Or are you just saying that to be nice?)
Thank you for listening to us when we're being backseat drivers and giving you directions that are faster than the route the GPS mapped out. And thank you for not listening to us after we've had a couple drinks and clearly have no sense of direction except for where the nearest Taco Bell is.
Thanks for handing us the aux cord. And when you don't, thank you for being the DJ and providing us with your (very occasionally) tasteful music selections.
Thanks for making us feel cool. We love rolling up to places in an UberBlack car that we didn't order on purpose driven by a dude in a suit with dark sunglasses. Mysterious!
Thanks for waiting patiently as we all try to split the fare. Thanks for being a therapist and listening to us rant, and also for politely pretending not to listen to us talking about our life problems in the back seat.
Thanks for the complimentary water. Thanks for an app that automatically connects to our credit cards, which is the best but also the worst thing ever. And finally, thanks for letting us out of the car when we're stuck in stand-still traffic two blocks from our destination and we don't want to pay the extra dollar. We're sure it's okay, but thank you for asking.
Fondly,
Your favorite Uber customers. We hope you give us five stars.
