An Open Letter To My Future Husband

You deserve to have everything, no matter how big or small, that the world can give you.

I have spent countless hours thinking about you and wanting to know everything about you, anything, maybe even just your name. You are special to me, precious to me, and so important to me that sometimes you're all I want. There's so much to tell you and so much I want to do with you, but my first thing to tell you is this; I love you.

I should also tell you is that I have been praying for you. I have asked God for many things in my life, the first being forgiveness, but I have prayed hard for many things; the health and safety of family and friends, a chance at life for a very sick little kid, and you. I am not perfect, but God is working on me. The same is true for you, but since you're mine and I am yours, I will believe that every dark and stormy road has led me straight to you.

Every single rough road, every down, every time I've wanted to stay down I have gotten up and dusted myself off. While it seems like it's been easy, it has been a long, broken journey that has led me to you. Please understand that we will have some bad days and an abundance of great days, but we can tackle it all as long as we have each other.

We may even be tackling each other's demons, and I will ruthlessly tackle every single one of yours if it means that you'll also help with mine. We can do anything and conquer everything with help from each other, God and our families. The darkness will never truly matter as long as I am in your arms, wrapped up in you.

There are so many things that I can't wait to share with you, and so many new experiences that you will bring. I am ready for the adventures that we'll go on and the ones we'll create. I promise to be a patient wife, to cook, to be faithful, to be loyal, and to always have your back. I can certainly tell you that we'll spend time with both your family and mine and all of our friends. I promise to fight with you, but never against you. I pray that we never go to bed angry, and that we can work things out in a peaceful way. I also promise to never lie to you (unless it's about a surprise party or presents). You are everything I've ever wanted, and I hope I'm all you'll ever need. How funny would it be if I've known you my whole life?

I want you to know that no matter where you are right now, no matter who you're with, I hope that you're OK and that you're happy. You deserve to have everything, no matter how big or small, that the world can give you. There are so many things I can't wait to experience with you, but laughing until we cry and cooking together are things you can certainly look forward to. I can't wait to meet you and travel with you, but most of all, I cannot wait to fall in love with you.

Maybe I know you or maybe I don't quite know you yet, but I am so happy to have you. I'm happy to be able to love you and get to know you and have a life with you. I hope you love me as much as I love you. Even if we don't know each other yet, know that I love you and that above all else, I'm praying for you.

For as long as I can remember, I have been listening to The Beatles. Every year, my mom would appropriately blast “Birthday” on anyone’s birthday. I knew all of the words to “Back In The U.S.S.R” by the time I was 5 (Even though I had no idea what or where the U.S.S.R was). I grew up with John, Paul, George, and Ringo instead Justin, JC, Joey, Chris and Lance (I had to google N*SYNC to remember their names). The highlight of my short life was Paul McCartney in concert twice. I’m not someone to “fangirl” but those days I fangirled hard. The music of The Beatles has gotten me through everything. Their songs have brought me more joy, peace, and comfort. I can listen to them in any situation and find what I need. Here are the best lyrics from The Beatles for every and any occasion.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
