Dear Gracie,
I really do wish I remember the day you came into our home. But considering I was only five years old, I don’t remember too much… but apparently you were so small you fit into my hand. You have been by my side since the month before I started kindergarten and for that I am so thankful.
Throughout the past 13 and a half years, you have been my best friend. You’re one of the reasons I get up in the morning, the one I can always count on to cheer me up and lick my tears away, and the star of my social media pages (the pictures I take of you are just too cute not to share).
You’re not only the best thing in my life, but in our family’s life. For over a decade, you have joined us on roadtrips, gotten many gifts on Christmas mornings, and have made us laugh numerous times with your weird quirks. You watched my sisters and I learn how to spell and multiply. You knew and loved all of us through our middle school awkward stages. You saw us in our caps and gowns for all three high school graduations and two college graduations.
Basically you grew up alongside our family, and that’s a pretty cool thing to say. Since you’ve been with us for so long, I honestly consider you the little sister I’ve never had (and I'm sure you consider me your pesky big sister who takes far too many pictures of you).
You’re getting pretty old now. You can't jump up, you have a bad hip, and you sleep even more than I do (and that’s saying something). It’s hard imagining life without you, but I know I will make the most of it and I will cherish you forever. No matter how old you get, you’ll always be my puppy (you still look like one), my baby sister, and the most spoiled dog in the world.
Thanks for everything, Gracie Kardashian. I love you.
