Thank you so much. Honestly, I wouldn’t have gotten through this whole transition to college without you. You made the change just that much easier. It wasn’t easy transitioning from living at home, with a super close family and friends surrounding me, to a campus where I knew basically no one. We had a rough time getting used to it all but in the end, we helped each other out. We became used to college life and the amount of independence we jumped into.
We’ve had the best time during the short time we’ve known each other, too. From late dinners in the dining hall and student center, to midnight trips traveling to McDonald's for shamrock shakes or Stop and Shop or Walmart for the most random things. We created thousands of unforgettable memories from meeting each other’s families, going to the movies and just sitting in our room watching Netflix.
I love our independence and how we help each other grow as individuals, even if it’s hard sometimes. We look out for each other no matter what, whether it's fashion advice or boy troubles or if one of us is just in a crappy mood. We have each other’s backs. You’re my closest friend on the entire campus and I wouldn’t change that for the world.
Although we’ve only known each other for the last few months, I feel like we’re already family. OK, I’m getting sappy, I’m sorry. Well, no I’m not, because it’s true. I can talk to you about anything and know you won’t judge me, even if I sound a little crazy. Actually, you may judge me a little bit, but that’s expected, since I act pretty special most of the time.
I feel like I’m laughing every day from the random things that we do. We say the same things at the same time, or talk too fast and completely mess up our sentences and sound absolutely insane. We listen to the same music, and I know that mainly because of your random singing 24/7.
I love your determination to get things done and achieve your goals, and living with you has only helped me improve on that skill. You’re smart and beautiful and loving and caring. Never forget that. You’re one of my best friends and I’m here for you through thick and thin. I got sappy again.
So, now that our first year of college is almost over I can’t wait for the next three years of us living together, and the many years beyond that, creating more memories to add to the ones we have now.
I love you so much. Again, thank you for everything.
