To my best friend's parents,
I want to thank you, for raising such an understanding and inspiring human being. I don't know where I'd be without them. No matter what time of night it is if I need them they're always there. They have the most beautiful soul I've ever seen and I'm so thankful to have met them. They laugh at my jokes and listen when life has got me down. I've experienced so many trying things with your child from scary movies to haunted houses and they are always their to hold my hand while laughing because I'm crying. Although if anyone asks I wasn't the one who cried. They know what to say in every situation and when they don't you do. Like the time I flooded my microwave a couple days after moving into college. If they didn't have parents like you they wouldn't be the wonderful person they are.
Not only did you create the person who helps me make it through life you also took the place as my second set of parents which is necessary because you and I both know I can be a handful. You remind me people love me when things get rough and you also remind me to take care of my plate when I leave it on the stand. You're honest when you think I'm making a big mistake like when I decide to dye my hair a color I'll regret in a few days or when I say I'm getting a tattoo. You are my one true fan on Facebook, I can always count on you to like my posts even when they are completely irrelevant. You keep your child and I out of trouble when we get some crazy scheme in our head like entering abandoned houses and trying to contact the scary ghost in your house. You also never ask questions when they come home with as stop sign in their hand-- to clarify we found it in my garage-- and you go along when I decide to surprise them with concerts. When it comes to parents you're about as hip as they come.
So thank you for not only giving the world such an amazing person but for everything you do for me. Thank you for the kind words, the cards when I need a pick me up at school, the cakes you make for all of my events, the socks that cannot be matched, the groceries when all I brought to college were m&ms and grape juice, the rides home from practice, preparing us for that talent show, tagging me in all of the funny Donald Trump memes, believing in me when I didn't believe in myself and so much more. I cannot express how truly thankful I am for you, your family and for letting me be a part of it.
Love,
Your Other Child
