It's happened. Finally. Friends is back. It's on Netflix: all of the complete episodes, all ten seasons.
The show may have premiered when I was one, but it is still, without a doubt, one of the best sitcoms ever made; and the fact that it is still hilarious twenty years later only proves it even more.
So in honor of being able to watch Friends whenever we want, I have put together ten of the best episodes for you to go back and watch, one from each season. Of course, these are some of the most difficult judgment calls I've ever had to make; so to be safe, I would just go back and watch the entire show from the beginning. You wouldn't want to miss a moment of Friends perfection.
Warning: Significant spoilers below. But if you don't know how Friends ends, seriously — you need to watch this show.
Season One: The One with All the Poker
Season Two: The One with the Prom Video
This episode has it all: classic lines ("He's her lobster!"), some awesome 80's flashbacks, and, of course, one of the best Ross and Rachel moments. You can't get much better.
Season Three: The One with the Football
Friends does Thanksgiving episodes well, but this is one of the best. It's one of those great Friends episodes that isn't about progressing the plot or creating some sort of drama: it's just six friends, playing football on Thanksgiving and being hilarious.
Season Four: The One with the Jellyfish
Another classic. There are some great Ross and Rachel moments ("We were on a break!"), Phoebe's family story gets a little more complicated, but most of all, Joey, Chandler, and Monica show just how close their friendship is. If nothing else, at least watch the epic scene where they tell the story of the jellyfish.
Season Five: The One with All the Thanksgivings
This episode isn't shown on TV quite as often, which makes it all the more exciting that you can now watch it on Netflix. Everyone relates stories of past Thanksgivings, giving us some more of those great 80's flashbacks, some awesome fat Monica scenes, and some random Civil War memories from Phoebe because, well, it's Phoebe.
Season Six: The One with Unagi
This may not be one of the most discussed Friends episodes, but it is certainly one of my favorites. The fight between Ross and Phoebe and Rachel just shows everything that is awesome about Friends.
Season Seven: The One with the Holiday Armadillo
Nothing says "holiday season" quite like the Holiday Armadillo. Plus, Phoebe tries to drive a wedge between Joey and Rachel so that Rachel moves back in with her. There's drumsets, there's tarantulas, and there's some great Phoebe moments.
Season Eight: The One with the Video Tape
Between the fake names, the video tape flashbacks, and Joey's story, all of the plots lines just come together perfectly in this episode with one of the best punchlines of all time. And Rachel's pregnant, so that is always exciting.
Season Nine: The One with the Lottery
Just like "The One with All the Poker," this episode is another great one where all of the friends are just the friends. They all pool together money to buy some lottery tickets, and then a pigeon ruins it all.
Season Ten: The Last One
No list of Friends episodes would be complete without one of the best finales on television. Fans really couldn't ask for a better end to such an amazing series. You know that all of the characters are going to be okay; they're moving on, but in the best way possible. Plus, nothing like an epic Ross and Rachel scene to wrap everything up.
