With the recent events unfolding, OJ Simpson is a "free man" come October.

Even though I was only a newborn when all of the mess with OJ started, I am just as interested and invested as the people who were old enough to realize what was happening at the time.

I'm one of those people who is fascinated with criminal cases like the cases involved with people like OJ Simpson and Whitey Bulger. There are so many twists and turns, they are almost like real-life movies.

There are many books and shows about the insane case and story of OJ, but "The People vs. OJ Simpson" is my favorite show. After watching the show, I learned of the murder of Nicole Brown, watched the desperate/suicidal car chase and ultimately watched OJ get acquitted for murder. Even though OJ ends up going to jail 13 years after his acquittal for an unrelated charge of stealing sports memorabilia.

The show was an up and down rollercoaster of emotions and attachments to characters, plot twists and episodes themselves. By basically seeing a recreation of the court case, I almost wasn't sure whether or not OJ had actually committed the murder of his wife and her boyfriend. The actor who played OJ seemed so convincing he was innocent, it almost made me feel for him.

I truthfully felt bad for a man who I believe actually got away with murder. In the show, I questioned a lot of the accuracy though. There are a few scene where Rob Kardashian seems skeptical of his best friend.

The trial of the century has been described as "legal justice", vs "moral justice" by his first line defense lawyer, Robert Shapiro. That's pretty sketchy for a man who helped an alleged murderer get away to say in an interview. I could be reading too much into it, but hearing that makes me feel as if there's more going on than what we do understand and know for ourselves.

OJ being released as early as October is terrifying to me. He was supposed to do a 33 year sentence for his crime, NOT EVEN RELATED TO THE MURDER, but only completed 9 years. Every day all we hear is men getting away with abuse (murder, in extreme cases) of women.

As someone who feels like I have been jibed by the justice system, seeing OJ walk free is almost traumatic to me. While I cannot 100% say whether or not I believe he killed Nicole Brown, the idea still terrifies me. I've watched the trial, heard the stories, done my research and I still don't know because he was aquitted.

All I can say is two people have been dead for 23 years and there has been no justice for either of them. Their families have to live with knowing someone who has been accused of murdering their loved ones will walk a free man. I can guarantee, while he was behind bars, they felt some sort of peace. Even though he wasn't in jail because of what he MOST LIKELY caused, he was away. And I know that feeling all too well.

I am feeling OJ's release deeply.

I wasn't even born the day they were murdered, and I was an infant during the day trial. And it's affecting me strongly.

As a survivor of an abusive relationship, others aren't as lucky.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
