Oh, Christmas Tree.

Rockin' Around the Christmas Tree.

Christmas is not only a religious holiday, but it’s also a secular one. This holiday is filled with lights, decorations, music, delicious food, and presents. A time where people come together to celebrate. Christmas is one of my favorite holidays, and through ornaments, I'm going to share some of the Christmas traditions that I have.

Making ornaments for the tree.

It’s a tradition at my house to make an ornament every year. When I was younger, my parents would make the ornaments for us, but when we got older, we made them ourselves. Every ornament has our names on it with the year we made them.

Making Christmas cookies.

Some of my favorites are the classics such as chocolate chip, but I also have other favorites such as Peanut Butter Blossoms. We also make cookies that we decorate with icing. It's a lot of fun, and a great time with the family.

Presents

I love both receiving and giving presents. The look on people’s faces as they open their presents is priceless. Every year, my family and I open one present on Christmas Eve, and the rest on Christmas day. Of course, I want to open them all up on Christmas Eve, but I wait like everyone else. Growing up, I’ve learned to appreciate the presents that I either didn't care about or I took for granted when I was younger like socks and gloves. Now, as an adult, I don’t want much other than clothes and food.

Christmas Classics.

I love the classics. So much so, I watch them year round. Go ahead, judge me all you want, but I’m not ashamed. If I had to choose a favorite Christmas Classic, it would be either The Year Without A Santa Claus or Jack Frost (the television show one not the movie or anime). My favorite characters would have to be between Jack Frost, Heat Miser, and Snow Miser. The song that the Heat and Snow Miser sing their introductions happens to be one of my favorite songs.

Christmas music.

I'm weird about Christmas music. So, please don't judge me about it. Personally, outside of December, I'll listen to Christmas music once and awhile. When it comes to playing Christmas music on the radio, I think it should wait until after Thanksgiving to do so. I don't why I feel this way, but I do. It's weird. I know.

Overall, I love Christmas music.

Church service.

Most years, I'll attend a service on Christmas Eve. I love Christmas Eve services. Filled with singing Christmas songs, lighting candles, and listening to the sermon about the Christmas Story.

Plus, I love dressing up, and looking nice.

The last tradition is that my family comes together to celebrate the holiday. Our lives are busy. So, Christmas is a time where we can all come together. I always have a blast, and it's a great time.

To everyone celebrating Christmas, I hope you have a Merry Christmas!

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.

Top 10 Reasons My School Rocks!

Why I Chose a Small School Over a Big University.

I was asked so many times why I wanted to go to a small school when a big university is so much better. Don't get me wrong, I'm sure a big university is great but I absolutely love going to a small school. I know that I miss out on big sporting events and having people actually know where it is. I can't even count how many times I've been asked where it is and I know they won't know so I just say "somewhere in the middle of Wisconsin." But, I get to know most people at my school and I know my professors very well. Not to mention, being able to walk to the other side of campus in 5 minutes at a casual walking pace. I am so happy I made the decision to go to school where I did. I love my school and these are just a few reasons why.
