An Ode To Cereal

An Ode To Cereal

Let me just start by saying: cereal is an amazing thing. To the inventor of cereal, I salute you. Now, I'm totally that girl who eats the cereal out of the box with no milk most of the time, but every now and then I can appreciate a good bowl of it with cold milk. I just wanted to make a list of my personal favorite cereals and tell you all why I like them so much.

1. French Toast Crunch

This cereal goes first because it is my all time favorite. It's literally tiny, crunchy, french toast bites. I have never been amazed more by a cereal in my life.

2. Oh's!

This isn't a common cereal, but it is SO good. It's super crunchy and has an amazing honey flavor that I can't even explain. Please world, try Oh's!

3. Reese's Puffs

I don't even LIKE peanut butter, but Reese's puffs are irresistible. I could eat them all day every day and never get sick of the creamy peanut butter taste.

4. Captain Crunch/ Crunch Berries

I am actually currently eating these right now. To be honest, I don't even know what the flavor is but whatever it is I love it. I like that the berries taste different than the rest of the cereal because it gives what could be a one note cereal some dimension.

5. Honey Bunches Of Oats

Okay, I LOVE this cereal. Even though whenever I eat it I make a huge mess on the couch cause it's so small, I love it anyway.

6. Count Chocula and all of the other Halloween cereals

I know that these only come out for part of the year, but it's totally the best part of the year for cereals everywhere. These themed cereals come in chocolate, blueberry, and strawberry, all with festive shaped marshmallows. What more could you want?

7. Lucky Charms

Most people only like Lucky Charms for just the marshmallows but I like it all. Sometimes if you just eat the marshmallows, it gets too sweet so you need the blander part of the cereal to balance it out.

8. Cheerios

Cheerios are great because they come in so many flavors. Chocolate, honey nut, apple cinnamon, banana nut, original, and more.

9. Cinnamon Toast Crunch

The cinnamon sugar coated pieces just fill my mouth with joy every time I eat them. This cereal is pretty popular, and after you taste it, you can understand why.

10. Special K.

Special K. cereal is SO good. It's way better than you think it is. I don't even know how to describe how good it is.

11. Corn Pops

Corn Pops is always another cereal that surprises me. It's so yummy and the shape and texture of it make it really fun to eat.

There are so many cereals that I didn't even mention that are also super deserving of the title. I love everything about cereal and I honestly think it's one of the best breakfasts and snacks out there.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Challah vs. Easter Bread: A Delicious Dilemma

Is there really such a difference in Challah bread or Easter Bread?

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
