The Moon and the Ocean: A Fantastical Sci-Fi Love Story-Poem
The Moon and the Ocean are complex lovers. As they say in any love story, it was love at first sight. The Moon was immediately attracted to the Ocean’s beautifully blue body. He still is. The Ocean was immediately attracted to the Moon’s brightness. She still is. But the Moon and the Ocean started to fight. They still do. The Moon often tries to control the Ocean, and, as a result, her tides rise. The Ocean’s tides also rise when she is jealous. She sometimes thinks Mr. Moon is cheating on her with the stars up there, but he reassures her he is not. She knows deep down that this is true. The Ocean’s waves are also wild when she is happily excited. The Moon also tries to pull the Ocean towards him. There are also times when her waves are calm because she feels at peace with Mr. Moon. This cycle repeats. One thing is for certain. The Moon and the Ocean are always connected by their passionate, gravitational forces of energy.

This just goes to show you how even the most magical of ideas can scare people, even if they are positive. Or even if they have previously wished for it themselves.
The Empty Can and the Seagull

The can wanted more out of life. All of the sudden, a seagull flew by. The seagull was attracted to how shiny that can of beans was. Consequently, the seagull flew down to the garbage barge, picked up the can with its mouth, and flew away. “I wonder what else there is out there?” the can of beans thought.
