As President Barack Obama's final term begins to come to a close, many people in the nation are beginning to look back on the roller coaster that has been the last eight years in American history and our Executive in Chief's responses to these moments. From the Sandy Hook shooting to the financial crisis, President Obama has seen his fair share of tough times in office over this time. Despite many hard-to-solve and address situations thrown upon him, President Obama has retained a quality that I will forever admire: his humor. As we begin to enter the final months of his presidency, here are the top five moments when President Obama made us smile.
1. The Release of his "Birth Video"
Throughout his presidency, Obama's heritage was questioned by many. Instead of choosing to simply address the rumors in the tabloids, Obama chose to have some fun by releasing a joke birth video at the 2011 Correspondents Dinner. To watch the full video, click here.
2. The Anger Translator with Keegan-Michael Key
At another Correspondents Dinner, Obama chose to joke about the issues with the press he has had over his presidency by bringing famed comedian Keegan-Michael Key to the dinner to play the part of his "Anger Translator" Luther that was previously seen in a skit on Key's hit comedy show. 3. Reading mean tweets with Jimmy Kimmel
Embracing the criticism about him featured on social media, President Obama participates in the popular skit on Jimmy Kimmel's late night talk show. Full video featured here.
4. Slow Jamming the News with Jimmy Fallon
The "Preezy in the United Steezy" found a comical way of discussing his latest policy plans with Jimmy Fallon.
5. Singing Al Green at a Fundraiser
The President took his staff by surprise by following through and singing at a fundraising event in New York. You go, Barock Ness Monster!
