Best known as "the city that never sleeps," New York City is filled with around-the-clock activities for people of all ages. Unfortunately, the city can be quite pricy, which limits what some people can actually do while spending their time in the Big Apple. Whether it is a day visit or a small vacation to NYC, there are plenty of things to do during one's stay. Here are some ways to save money while having an incredible New York City trip.

1. The Metropolitan Museum of Art

The perfect place to go and get lost in for hours. The Met is a great place to explore if you are looking to see some incredible Egyptian architecture, American Art and much more. Also, it's a great place for some artsy pictures, which is definitely a perk. The admission ticket is $25, but what they don't tell you is that it is the suggested price. You can pay anywhere from $1 to $25.

2. Bryant Park

Located on 40th Street and Sixth Avenue, this small park was built in the middle of the hustle and bustle of New York City. The park is completely free. It's a great place to grab lunch, hang out with friends and play chess. During the summer there are sometimes movies and you can bring a blanket and relax in the middle of the park.

3. Central Park

Located on the Upper East and West Side of Manhattan, Central Park is the perfect location with various activities. Within the park there is a zoo, bicycle rentals, food trucks and playgrounds. Watch people perform magic acts and sing as you walk through.

4. TKTS Discount Booth in Times Square

Within Times Square, there is a red booth that sells many discounted tickets to various Broadway musicals and plays. Tickets are heavily discounted, which tends to make the wait to buy them long. Hack: go closer to the time of the performance you want to attend. If they run out of tickets to the show you want to see, there are so many other ones that are cheap to get tickets to. Honestly, it ends up being a win-win.

5. "Good Morning America" Concert Series

If you're lucky, you can attend the tail end of the "GMA" concert series. Concerts are free and the channel always brings in great performers. Check out their website on how to get VIP passes, which are sometimes emailed out to subscribers.

For as long as I can remember, I have been listening to The Beatles. Every year, my mom would appropriately blast “Birthday” on anyone’s birthday. I knew all of the words to “Back In The U.S.S.R” by the time I was 5 (Even though I had no idea what or where the U.S.S.R was). I grew up with John, Paul, George, and Ringo instead Justin, JC, Joey, Chris and Lance (I had to google N*SYNC to remember their names). The highlight of my short life was Paul McCartney in concert twice. I’m not someone to “fangirl” but those days I fangirled hard. The music of The Beatles has gotten me through everything. Their songs have brought me more joy, peace, and comfort. I can listen to them in any situation and find what I need. Here are the best lyrics from The Beatles for every and any occasion.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
