To Those of Us Who Feel Like We're Not Enough to Anyone.

We can make it through this thing called, "Life."

This one's for the people like me who feel like there's nothing and no one out there to help us. This one's for the people like me who feel like life is suffocating you so bad that the only escape is too stay in bed. This one's for the people like me who cannot see the next step; we have seemed to come to the end of the road.

It seems like we can't just catch a break, whether it's physical, or emotional, maybe even spiritual, we just seem like we're not enough. But what if I told you you are more than enough? I know you've heard it probably more than 20 times just in this week, but just listen real quick.

You fill a role no one else can play. Even though your mind is telling you that you don't matter, even if other people say that you don't matter, the ultimate truth is YOU DO. Only one person can be Wilson Whitener, and that's me. Now just change out my name with your name in that sentence, and I believe that some great power can come from just knowing that you are unique; you are worth it; you are irreplaceable. If you caught what I'm trying to say by now, good, if not I'm going to dig a little deeper. You have a certain set of gifts that were given to you at birth to help live life to the fullest, and I believe those were given to you by God. Ya know, the Creator of the Universe? And He gave those specific gifts to YOU. Not the popular guy/girl in school, not the protégé at work who seems to get everything done, no. He gave those gifts to you.

Secondly, you are worth it. There's so much potential in you that has yet to be tapped into yet. It doesn't matter if you're 17 or 70, there's still room for you to flourish. Some times you will have people tell you you're not worth it, that you're a lost cause, nothing essentially, but I can assure you that's definitely not the case. I believe that if someone came to this Earth to die for you and me, just so that He could know us for eternity, that shows that you and I are priceless. Jesus paid the ultimate price of being beaten, mocked, tortured, and killed so that we might have a chance to know Him. So don't listen to what "they" have to say. "They" didn't know you when you were just a baby in your mother's womb, "they" can't see you for who you truly are, priceless, and "they" don't define your worth. That was defined on the Cross as Jesus gave it all for us. You are not what they label you, and you are so so so so so so worth it.

Finally, I just want to say, keep pushing. There's so much out there for you that God has placed in your path. So many opportunities waiting for you to flourish! Just stick with it. It may suck right now but I promise we're going to get through this. You're far too unique, and awesome, and wonderful to give up now.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
