Not Your Tattoo

Tattoos are basically comparable gateway drugs. Once you get one you can't help but move on to the next one. Many people, including me, know this too. The pain is worth it in the end, you actually begin to like it a little bit. Maybe thats not everybody. Yet, I'm pretty sure many have ideas for what they want whether its a minimal one or a full back mural. It's cool to have an idea too, I mean it is YOUR body. The thing with this concept is though, is that not everyone understands that the art on someones skin should dissuade you from seeing their actual character. Tattoos while cool bring mixed emotions to many, obviously so due to the certain fact that you can't even have certain jobs because of them, because they don't display professionalism. Tattoos are somehow immediate labels of character and thats not true. They're for everybody. They're creative. Why shoot down someone for expressing themselves in this form, using their body as a canvas? It's for display for a reason and it shouldn't deter many from doing what they love.

Tattoos are a form of expression. They're art. They don't always have to mean something. Maybe someone just wanted a velociraptor on their lower back because they really thought it was neat. As far as I'm concerned that doesn't you or anybody the right to not only immediately label the person as an "idiot" or "stupid" for getting something such as that just because YOU wouldn't get it. People like what they like and thats the reason they do it. There are without a doubt tattoos that people regret, and thats fine, but then there are people who might have tattoos some people might not like and asking them "What it means" or "why they got it" in attempts to degrade them is garbage. It's fine to give your opinion on it, but that doesn't have to follow up with why their tattoo isn't fit for their body.

I also find it a little irritating that certain jobs don't allow you to have a certain amount of tattoos due to a "professional" look people try to uphold. I've seen and actually met plenty people who have tattoos everywhere and are generally nice and down to earth people. Yet its a societal norm to think that a lot of tattoos immediately make you a delinquent. That sleeves, and all body tattoos make you criminal. They don't make the person. Maybe they want it to represent them in some way, maybe they're random and just looked cool, but never jump to conclusions. Talk to them. Maybe they're your soulmate, maybe your future best friend, future supervisor etc. Don't burn bridges too early, especially based on something like that.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register.
