It's confusing how you go through life meeting people that you will probably never meet again, but the beautiful part of it all is that some you do see again, and those that you do may become a great part of your life. Best friends are unique, and they make life better, always making you laugh and helping you get up when you are down. There is something so special about having that one person you think of sharing your greatest life moments—knowing that someone out there is your best friend. There is so much comfort in knowing that you have someone you can always count on. Here are 12 ways that you can differentiate normal friends from best friends.

1. Normal friends call you once vs. best friends who blow your phone up.

You know someone is your best friend when you receive non-stop calls in the middle of the night and many more every single day. There is no limit to the times you call your best friend, and there is no maximum times you speak to your best friend daily. No matter where you are, or what you are doing, expect a call from your best friend at any moment.

2. Normal friends lie to you vs. best friends are always honest.

You feel like sometimes people compliment you to just be nice? Yeah, well don't expect that from best friends. If you look nice, they'll tell you straight up that your slaying your outfit, but if you look like a mess, they'll tell you right to your face.

3. Normal friends knock at your house vs. best friends basically live with you.

You know if a person is your best friend if you come home to see them laying on your couch and eating your food. No matter where you go, your home is your best friends' home.

4. Normal friends stop dancing when the party stops vs. best friends keep on going.

The party stopped and everyone is starting to pick up to head back home, well you and your best friend won't stop dancing, because no matter if there's even music still playing, you both are the life of the party.

5. Normal friends talk behind your back vs. best friends make fun of you to your face.

You're wearing a sparkly shirt? Friends will probably just make fun of it behind your back, but your best friends will probably laugh in your face. No matter what you are wearing or what you are doing, prepare yourself for your best friends' mockery.

6. Normal friends stay classy vs. best friends stay sassy.

No matter who or what the situation is, you are sure to keep the sassiness alive with your best friend. Friends stay proper all the time, but with best friends, you don't care who you're with or what people say about them.

7. Normal friends stay home vs. best friends take adventures.

You will find adventure in everything. Your best friend and you will decide to get lost in a big city or a small town, exploring and just being yourselves.

8. Normal friends go their separate ways vs. best friends plan their lives together.

Late one night you will find yourself on the couch planning the next 30 years of your life with your best friends. You will plan each others weddings, birthdays and anniversaries. You will know they are your best friends because no matter what happens, you will always find a way to be together.

9. Normal friends fight lightly vs. best friend fights are World War III.

Getting into a fight with your best friend is like going to war. You will push, insult and figure out ways to get back at each other, but after the war comes the calm, and you and your best friend will always find a way to make things right.

10. Normal friends don't understand you when you're drunk vs. best friends fully embrace your drunken ego.

You find yourself confused about life in the middle of the night and the only person sitting next to you is your drunk best friend. The best conversations and moments come with being drunk—you and your best friend will understand each other in those moments where you can't even walk.

11. Normal friends listen but don't care vs. best friends always listen and say the right words.

No matter what happens, your best friend will always be right next to you. They will have the best words to console you with when things go wrong, and they will always find a way to make you feel better. Best friends know exactly when something is wrong, and they know the best remedy to make things better.

12. No matter where you go, you and your best friends will always stick together.

At the end of it all, everyone will know who your best friend is. You will go places together, will have inside jokes and will find that no matter what other people say, they will always be by your side.

For as long as I can remember, I have been listening to The Beatles. Every year, my mom would appropriately blast “Birthday” on anyone’s birthday. I knew all of the words to “Back In The U.S.S.R” by the time I was 5 (Even though I had no idea what or where the U.S.S.R was). I grew up with John, Paul, George, and Ringo instead Justin, JC, Joey, Chris and Lance (I had to google N*SYNC to remember their names). The highlight of my short life was Paul McCartney in concert twice. I’m not someone to “fangirl” but those days I fangirled hard. The music of The Beatles has gotten me through everything. Their songs have brought me more joy, peace, and comfort. I can listen to them in any situation and find what I need. Here are the best lyrics from The Beatles for every and any occasion.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
