Math has never been my strong suit, to say the least. I would (and still do) choke under the pressure of mental math, no matter how simple it may be.
If I'm being completely honest, that's *partly* why I chose a degree in writing - because there's no math beyond two semesters for gen-eds.
What blows my mind is that there are people out there that decide to spend their college tuition taking an endless amount of math classes - and enjoying it. My brother, now an engineer, was one of those people and I will never understand how he got excited about finding square roots of things that aren't even numbers. I'll never get it.
But, just like I may hate math, there are people out there that hate writing. They're simply more left-brained, meaning they like the logical side of things compared to someone who's right-brained and tends to be more creative. If the world didn't have people who functioned with both sides of the brain, our society would be an absolute mess of either just numbers and no words or just words and no numbers (which to me, doesn't sound *too* bad).
I will never understand the people who love crunching numbers and finding the square root of x and think that finding sin, cos, and tan is the most thrilling thing in the world.
Leave me with my pen and paper and a cup of coffee and I'll be set for life.
